Obituary: Robert Valentine New, Jr., a 35 year veteran in the financial services industry, devoted husband, father, and servant leader, passed away on , 18, 2010. A man of integrity and enthusiasm, Bob developed a broad array of friendships and had a stimulating effect upon all he encountered. He was accepting and trusting of people, politically sensitive, and a fair-minded individual whose superior problem solving skills allowed him to enjoy the challenges he met. Optimistic and positive in his outlook, he had an innate ability to build and facilitate successful teams. Born in Pasadena, California, on 26, 1951, Bob was the eldest child of Robert Valentine New and Arline May Smith New. The family also lived in Greenville, Delaware and later in Alexandria, Virginia. Growing up, Bob had a passion for sports and he played as many team sports as he could. As a ninth grade student, he entered the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas. A private preparatory military school for young men, MMA is based on the traditions, values, and ideals of the United States Marine Corps. He lettered in football, basketball, swimming, and he earned his private pilots license. There he became a company commander, received the Superintendents Award as well as the Military Leadership Award, and graduated with academic honors. Mr. New believed he Marine Military Academy breeds success, and it was where I learned the core values upon which I chose to base my life. Bob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, attending boot camp during the summer. He was an honor graduate of the USMC Platoon Leaders Class and was honorably discharged. At Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. There he played intramural sports and during his senior year, he joined the football team as a walk-on. On a weekend visit to The University of Texas at Austin, he spotted a picture of Pamela Ann Roche in a sorority composite. The two were married at Margarite B. Parker Chapel on the campus of Trinity University on 26, 1976. Bobs career began in San Antonio at Southwest Texas National Bank. He served in various capacities with Texas Commerce Bancshares/ Chemical Bank from 1981 through 1988, and was fortunate to be mentored by Ben F. Love who said, It is time to test those young broad Marine Corps shoulders of yours as he was named President of Texas Commerce Bank-Southwest Houston, then Clear Lake, and then San Antonio Northwest. He worked with NCNB/NationsBank/Bank of America from 1988 until 2001 in Houston and Dallas in various capacities with the Consumer Banking, the Business Banking, the Premier Banking, and the Commercial Banking Groups. From 2001 until 2005, Bob worked with Coastal Banc/Hibernia National Bank as an Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer. He was President and CEO of GreenBank from 2006 until 2007, which led to the acquisition of Redstone National Bank, and from 2007 until 2009, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of FNB Corporation in Hermitage, Pennsylvania. Mr. New served on numerous boards and was affiliated with many organizations which include: The Sales Excellence Institute of the University of Houston Bauer of Business advisory board, Greater Houston Partnership, Council of Better Business Bureaus national board, Houston Better Business Bureau, Dallas Better Business Bureau, University of Houston National Advisory Council, Southern Methodist University Tate Lecture Series, Trinity University National Alumni Board, The Marine Military Academy Board of Trustees and executive committee, Sam Houston Area Council of Boy Scouts, Houston Technology Advisory board, Gulf Coast Consumer Credit Counseling Service board, Leadership Dallas Alumni Board and Program Director, American Cancer Society Houston board and President Bay Area Chapter, Humana Hospital Clear Lake, Leadership Clear Lake board as well as executive committee and organizer, Houston Economic Development Foundation Space Biotechnology Task Force, Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and member of the Technology Executive Club of Houston. In 2002, he was appointed to The State of Texas Personal Privacy Task Force. His honors include Five Outstanding Young Texans, Five Outstanding Young Houstonians, and Marine Military Distinguished Alumnus. In 1979, Bob was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, was treated, and enjoyed thirty years in remission. In 2009, he was diagnosed with cancer again, treated and declared cancer free. He died of respiratory complications which may have been a side effect of his treatments; however, he fought hard to triumph over each challenge until the end of his life, and he served as an inspiration to his family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, golf, tennis, and he volunteered to coach his sons many team sports. He loved volunteering and traveling with his wife, making the most of each day they were given together over the thirty-three years they were married. Bob new is survived by his wife, Pamela Ann Roche New, his son, Robert Valentine New III and wife Kelly Elizabeth New, sister Bonnie Arline New, M.D., and brother Michael Archer New, as well as numerous other extended family members who will miss him dearly. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six oclock until eight oclock on evening, the 23rd of at Forest Park The Woodlands, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas. The funeral service is to be conducted at 2 oclock in the afternoon on the 24th of in the chapel at Forest Park The Woodlands. Obituary: Robert J. Daigle, 88, of Fannett, died , 19, 2017, in Fannett. Mr. Daigle, a native of Morgan City, served his Country in the United States Navy. Obituary: Robert H. Dwyer, Jr., age 94, died peacefully on , 20, 2017 in Houston, Texas. A native Houstonian, he was the only child of Robert and Anna Mae Dwyer. Bob attended St. Annes Catholic School, St. Thomas High School and graduated from the University of Houston where he met his wife of 68 years, Mary Ray Curry. While at UH, he joined the United States Army Air Corp. serving as a fighter pilot in WWII, the Korean War and the Air National Guard Reserves, he retired at the rank of Colonel. Bob earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and went on to a career in the industrial valve business, starting Dwyer Industries, Inc. in 1970. An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved spending time outdoors with his family. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ray Dwyer, son, Douglas J. Dwyer, and his parents. Obituary: Robert Henson Rogers, Jr., passed away peacefully at the age of 89 of natural causes, in Dallas TX on 10, 2017. He was born on 21, 1927. Henson is a Highland Park High School graduate and attended SMU. He is an Air Force veteran in World War II and was stationed at Love Field. Henson worked for Dun and Bradstreet for 35 years, where he met his wife, Jimmie Sue, retiring in 1985. He went back to work for Dallas Computer Service as a sales representative for ten years. Henson retired again, and then went back to work as a member of the Appraisal Review Board for the Dallas Appraisal District, serving three two-year terms, then returning this last year for another term at the age of 88. Henson was a voracious book reader. He was president of the PTA at Dan Rogers Elementary School. He was also a Cub Scout leader and a real estate broker. Henson is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jimmie Sue Rogers; his parents, Henson and Marguerite Rogers; and his sister, Margaret Gearhart. He is survived by his sons, Roger Rogers and Henson Rogers III; and his daughter-in-law, Kat Rogers. Obituary: Robert Bob Charles Hallmark, 79, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on 16, 2014. Bob was deeply devoted in his Christian faith and represented all that is good, pure and noble. He filled his life with unwavering dedication to his country and was admired by all who knew him as an officer and a gentleman. Born on 12, 1934 in Lampasas, Texas, Bob grew up in Austin, attended LSU on a basketball scholarship, graduated from the University of Nebraska, and received a Masters Degree in Political Science from Rutgers University. He served in the United States Army with unwavering dedication to his country for over 22 years as a Combat Infantry Officer, Army Ranger, Master Aviator and an aide to three generals. He received numerous commendations for valor and meritorious service, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, and Purple Heart. Additionally, he earned commendations from the General Chief of Staff of the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces. Bob was extremely proud to be given the assignment as a Commander in the 3rd Infantry Old Guard, the Armys elite ceremonial unit in the Nations Capital that handles Presidential ceremonies, guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and conducting funerals in Arlington National . In the late 1990s, Bob was inducted into the Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame. At his retirement ceremony in 1975, Colonel Hallmark received the following commendation from Major General Robert G. Yerks, USA, Commanding, . . . it is my privilege, on behalf of a proud United States Army and a very grateful people, to say hank you. Bob lived in Sun City, Georgetown, Texas for the past 15 years with his wife Barbara Hallmark where he faithfully served his church and community.
