Obituary: Peggie Sue (Cope) Roberson was born on 27, 1932 in New York, New York, to Wallace Newton Cope & Maude Josephine Coleman. She was the second born of five children who were raised in Dallas, Texas. She attended Adamson High School, and graduated Class of 50. She loved to dance and would compete in Jitterbug competitions. In 1952, Peggie Sue married Billy Jack Roberson and they had two children, Carla Denise & Stephen Michael. raised their family in the Dallas area until his passing in , 1969. In order to provide for her family, Peggie Sue worked as a credit manager. She was also the first female President of The National Association of Credit Management (NACM). She enjoyed Sudoku and crossword puzzles, Mah Jong, taking cruises, watching American Idol on T.V. and loved listening to the Eagles and Christian music. Her favorite book was the Holy Bible. Peggie Sue was a woman of faith and devoted a lot of time and effort into her church. She was the church treasurer and enjoyed putting on puppet shows for the children at church as well. Each week shed write a new bible lesson to teach the children with her puppets, Sam and Susie. Her church family at Bethel Baptist Church in will miss her dearly. Peggie Sue was also a family woman. A bit stubborn at times, hard working as well, but she loved spending time and sharing the bible with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. too, will miss her tremendously. On , 21, 2016, Peggie Sue Roberson was called . She was greeted in Heaven by her parents, her husband, Billy Jack Roberson, her siblings: Patricia Jean Harrison, Nancy Marlene Vallo, Richard Cope and her son, Stephen Michael Roberson. Services are under the direction of Dutton in Iowa Park. Patsy was born 20, 1934 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Hubert Case and Virginia (Guinn) Hendrickson. She married Eldon Roberson on 2, 1950 in Larned, Kansas. She was a homemaker who loved reading books, ceramics, and enjoyed working puzzles. Patsy is preceded in death by her parents. Surviving relatives include her husband, Eldon Roberson of Wichita Falls; children, Michael Lynn Roberson of Henrietta, Texas; Randall Mark Roberson; Rebecca Ann Wilson; Edmund Kerry Roberson, all of Wichita Falls; one sister, Bobbie Sue Best of Yukon, Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. |

Roberson, 76, passed away on , 10, 2017 in Abilene, TX. services will be 10:00a.m., 14, 2017 at Oldham Lane Church of Christ with burial following in Abilene Municipal under the direction of Elliott-Hamil , 542 Hickory St. Visitation will be evening from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home. Nelda was born on 2, 1940 To Nolan and Pauline Stroud in Abilene, TX. Nelda attended Heights North Jr. High and Abilene High School. She met and married Johnny Roberson on May 25, 1957. were blessed with three daughters. Nelda wanted to make a difference in the lives of children so she went back to school and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She later attended ACU and received her Masters of Education. Her first teaching job was at Noodle Horn School, she later taught at Anson, Abilene and Cisco Jr. . Neldas belief was that All Children Can Learn. Nelda retired from teaching in 1997 to care for her husband and her own illness. She battled cancer on and off for 20 years. Nelda was a member of Oldham Lane Church of Christ. She worked with World Bible School, loved her card ministry, enjoyed needle work, embroidery and was a fabulous cook. She is preceded by her parents; two brothers; and loving husband of 42 years, Johnny Dale Roberson. Survivors are her daughters; Sara Woodrow and husband David of Mesa, AZ, Cynthia Bowman of Abilene, TX, and Lisa Suzanne Roberson of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Samson Roberson and wife Rose, Tara Melvin and husband Randy, Warren Woodrow, and Dava Woodrow; great-grandchildren, Jacob Melvin, Taylor Melvin and Chase Decker; two sisters, Beth Roberson of Abilene, TX and Paula Roberts of Joplin, MO. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to her family at Chisholm Place., Dr. Melynk, Hendrick Hospice, Cards, and all of the prayers offered. |
