Obituary: Stella Mae Roach was the third of five girls born to John Wesley and Elizabeth Sheeon, on 20, 1906. She was raised on a ranch outside Miles, Texas, where her Papa was a ranch hand. Obituary: Robin arrived in the world on the first day of spring in 1972, thus receiving her name as one of our most familiar, happy signs of winters end. She will endure in our hearts as our most beloved and favorite first Robin of spring. A brightly pink-red bundle of squirming baby, she informed all present in Labor and Delivery of her understandable displeasure at being discharged from her mothers perfectly hospitable womb. From the start, she delighted her parents Pat and Chris with her sweet, lively nature and smiling presence. How she loved to be bounced on her dads knee! As many of you know, Robin was a passionate Texas A&M graduate whose prior schooling in Plano progressed from Davis Elementary, to Haggard Middle School, then Vines High School, and Plano Senior High. Her career in marketing began in 1994 with her internship and subsequent offer of employment at Sterling Software. Work then took her to southern California, where she grew into a successful marketing executive. Returning to Dallas and family in 2001, she was employed by Dell, Lone Star Securities, and, ultimately, Hill & Knowlton, where she rose to vice president. True to her nature, she was always focused on the well-being and personal growth of her team. Words can adequately capture Robins depth, sensitivity, vibrance, work ethic, and kind soul. Its with disbelief and shock that we grapple with the reality of losing the earthly presence of our beloved daughter, stepdaughter, sister, aunt, cousin, mentor, colleague, and friend who loved us beyond measure. An adventurous spirit, she relished skydiving, ziplines, scuba diving, music, and just hanging out with friends and family. She was unfailingly generous, loyal, tender-hearted, and fiercely loving and protective of those dear to her. Whatever job or task she took on, Robin threw all of her conscientiousness and caring into it. She embodied integrity, competence, and the elegant beauty of a job done well. Calling upon Robin was always the most direct route to guaranteeing that something would be done right. Wickedly funny and sharp-eyed, she was also a guaranteed direct route to great fun and good times. Robin listened and loved with her whole being. Her down-to-earth nature saw each persons value and uniqueness, and she loved animals with all of her heart. Robin was kindness, pure and simple. Her empathy for others pain was boundless. Her originality and thoughtfulness extended to all that she undertook. Like her older brother Tim, she possessed the qualities of perseverance, vision, and leadership. Like her only sister Tracey, she had a swift wit and unerring sense of style. With her younger brother Prescott, she shared the qualities of a deep sweetness of heart and truly goofy sense of humor. Like all of her siblings, she was smart and funny as hell. Robin adored her nephews Jacob (who shares her ability to break your eardrums with a boisterous sneeze), Spencer, and Nolan; her niece Winslet; and her little dog Bear. Her bright spirit inhabits our hearts and memories. Simply put, she was beautiful inside and out. We are better people for the gift of having known and been loved by Robin. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to Childrens Organ Transplant Association (COTA) at www.cota.org or to a charity of ones choice. |
