Obituary: Joan Marie Risinger passed peacefully in the early morning hours of 28, 2016 at her residence in Pearland, Texas. She was born 31, 1937 in Houston, Texas. Joan is preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Bonnie Johnson and her great-grandson Jordan Young. Joan met the love of her life, Carl Risinger, in Jacinto City and married him on 16, 1955. She was an organized planner and home-maker for her husband and five daughters. Joan had a great sense of style and flair for fashion. She took great pleasure in coordinating her daughters' holiday dresses, which she sewed in the early years. In addition to her home-making skills, she had excellent business sense. the girls were of school age, Joan became a certified income tax preparer and was a business partner in that field for a number of years. She was also very instrumental in the start-up of her husbands masonry company. As her daughters married and grandchildren came along, Joan enjoyed putting her creativity and sewing skills to work making unique Christmas stockings, holiday apparel and many other specialty items for the family. Joan was very generous and expressed her love through giving. She was also quick to respond if she sensed there was a need. Joan will be missed by her cherished husband; Carl, daughters; Bonnie Inglis and husband John, Deborah Pinder and husband George, Shelly Rivera and husband Elvis, Shelia Claxton and husband Russell, Karla Webre and husband Dwayne, twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, her loving sisters and brother, extended family and friends. The family will receive visitors on 3, 2016 from 3pm to 6 pm at Brookside . The funeral service will be on 5, 2016 at 1 pm at Brookside . |

Burial will be at Memorial Park by Memorial Park , 6969 I-40 East. Gladys was born 2, 1928 in Bellville to Joseph and Lonie Long. She passed from this life on 8, 2014. She graduated from Coleman High School in Coleman, Texas. Gladys married Ernest Risinger on 2, 1949 in Coleman. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Nile and attended Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Travis and Howard Long and a grandson, Joe Corbin. Survivors include her husband, Ernest Risinger of Amarillo; son, Sid Risinger of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Pam Risinger of Amarillo; sister, Marie Cox of Midland and her grandchildren, Amy Smith, Mark Risinger, Scott Risinger and Sean Risinger. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gladys, three sisters; two brothers and a grandson, Joe Corbin.
