Obituary: SCPO Howard (Sonny) Rhame Jr. born on 5, 1934 went to be with the lord on 13, 2015 at the age of 80. He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard Sr. and Bessie Rhame, brothers, Cecil Rhame and G.K. Rhame and sister Helen Rhame. Survived by his wife, Josephine B. Rhame; children, Daryl (Cindy) Rhame and Bambi (Ray) Rush; step-children, Michael Butkovich and Kimberly (Steve) Caldwell; sisters, Minnevie (Ron) Hall, Dolores Trosclair, Diana (Harold) Gross, and Faye Ivansky; half-sister, Lela Baker, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. He served in the U.S. Navy for 29 years and 9 months. During that time he sailed around the world, going around the equator twice. He completed a tour in Korea and completed two tours in Vietnam. He was aboard the vessels USS Intrepid (aircraft carrier), USS Destroyer, and several others. He was a member of Manor Baptist Church and also worked there for 15 years as a superintendent. Obituary: Mignon (Mig) Myrtle Reznik, dignified loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with her heavenly Father on 22, 2010, at the age of 79. She was born on 14, 1930, in Woodville, Oklahoma to Fred and Nobey Lemmons. As a child of the Great Depression, Mig learned the honor of hard work and the value of strong family bonds, which she passed down to her children. At the age of eighteen, Mig moved to Dallas, Texas to attend business college. She soon met Alphonse (AL) Reznik to whom she committed in marriage and love for life on May 14, 1949, in Stamford, Texas. AL and Mig moved, in of 1949, to Friona, Texas, where she freely dedicated her life to being a compassionate, selfless mother of four and a creative homemaker, while also managing the farm business. farmed in Friona until 1974. a short stay farming in the Sulfur Spring Valley of Arizona, AL and Mig relocated to Lubbock, Texas in of 1976, where she remained through the recent passing of AL on May 26, 2010, until her death. Mig is survived by her children: Michael and Linda Reznik of Odessa, Texas; Sandy and David Butcher of Lawton, Oklahoma; Annette and Jim Watters of Fredericksburg, Texas; and Patrick and Lily Reznik of Dripping Springs, Texas. She is also survived by her younger brother, Freddy Joe Lemmons of Mustang, Oklahoma and her nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be held on , 26, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., at Resthavens Abbey Chapel with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on from 4pm to 6pm at Resthaven . Obituary: REZNIK, GEORGE JOHN, 86, beloved, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on 13, 2015. Born 22, 1929 to John and Francis Reznik in Ennis, Texas. He was a first generation Texan and American and proud of his immigrant parents Czech-Moravian heritage. George was the youngest of 4 siblings; Cecilia Vasek, Wesley Reznik, Alphonse Reznik and Raymond Reznik (all deceased). The Reznik family moved to Littlefield, TX in 1930, laying roots for a successful farming legacy in the Texas Panhandle. The family returned to Ennis, TX, with the three youngest sons in 1940. He graduated from St. Johns High School, Ennis, Texas, in 1945. George married Dorothy on 7, 1950. He served in the 52nd Infantry during the Korean War, quickly rising to the rank of Sergeant. On his return stateside, he was employed by Doran Chevrolet, where he became a pioneer in the automotive A/C repair industry, retiring in 1993. He was an avid gardener and handyman and delighted in sharing tomatoes with friends and neighbors. He was an active and valued member of many fraternal organizations, including SPJST Lodge 84, the Dallas Ennis Fraternal Council, the Czech Heritage Cultural Society, KJT Lodge 111, WFLA Lodge 401, and a 3rd degree Knight of Knights of Columbus Council 799.He was a founding member of St. Patricks Catholic Church and Parish in Dallas, TX. George is preceded in death by wife Dorothy Rose, and survived by daughters Georgia Johnson and Susan McKee, as well as, sons David and Jonathan. He will be remembered by three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, numerous God-children, as well as, countless friends and colleagues. Obituary: Stephen Louis Reznicek, 66, died on , 6, 2014, in San Antonio after a seven year battle with prostate cancer. Steve was born on 13, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska, to Ralph and Meredythe Reznicek. Steves life was full of the love of family and of friends who became family. He grew up in a large and loving household with six brothers and sisters and grandparents nearby. Steve told of living next door to his cousins and playing in a joint backyard where the kids came and went as they pleased. During the Vietnam War, Steves draft number was high, so he enlisted in the Navy to have more control over his destiny. He spent the war in Iwakuni, Japan, enjoying the beautiful country and its beautiful women. Returning to civilian life in 1971 he began a lifelong quest for learning. Steve got a B.S. in Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a B.A in Political Science from Bellevue University in Omaha. graduating, Steve and his first wife joined a commune that traveled the U.S. studying eastern philosophy. Steve eventually left the commune, moving to south Texas with his daughter, Amy and two of his brothers, in pursuit of warm weather. In 1981, he married Cynda Hoffman for his second and final marriage. shared 32 happy and adventurous years. At midlife Steve decided to pursue his dream of studying law, eventually graduating with a J.D. from St. Marys Law School in 1990. He practiced for several years with the firm of Garcia, Teneyuca and Reznicek and later worked for Standard Aero in importexport compliance. Steve loved both the work he did and the people he worked with. Steve and Cynda were members of Madison Square Presbyterian Church and, later, Travis Park United Methodist. For many years they shared their passion for good food, great wine, and enjoying life with a band of friends who called themselves The Gourmet Group. Trips to the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, Seattle, Germany, the Czech Republic, Spain, the Netherlands, England, Belgium, and Budapest often centered on the adventure of enjoying the wonderful local cuisine and wines. At Cyndas prompting, Steve became involved in civil rights organizations and made them his own. For several years, they were proud members of the Human Rights Campaigns Federal Club. One of Steves proudest moments was when he was invited to speak at the local HRC gala on the benefits of being a club member. Steve also believed in the need for safe medical care for women. When he and Cynda were first married and had limited means, they used Planned Parenthood for medical care. Later, he did his best to support the organizations mission. Survivors include his wife, Cynda, daughters Sandra Crow, Amy, Micaela, and Leah Reznicek, three grandchildren, six brothers and sisters, a large extended family, and numerous friends. Obituary: Isabel Frances Reznicek, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Feb. 8, 2015. She was born 8, 1929 to Lupe an Leth Castillo, both of whom preceded her in death along with her beloved husband, Anton Reznicek, Sr., brothers: Joe and Lupe Castillo, sisters: Cristina Gomez, Carmen Novak, Earline Lorance and Mary Cruz. Frances was a woman who was dedicated to her family and had a reputation for having a work ethic that was unparalleled. Growing up, she worked the fields as well as livestock with her whole family. Living in Waxahachie, she met and eloped with her husband, Anton, after his recuperation from wounds sustained in the war. Anton was a musician which blended perfectly with Frances’ love of dancing. enjoyed many evenings together spending time with each other and friends with music and laughter. were blessed with two wonderful children and she was a mother who made sure that her children were taken care of. Frances always had a positive outlook and could never be heard to say a negative word about anybody or anything. Later in life, her grandchildren and great grandchildren became a source of constant joy and she was fond of letting them dress her up in hats and sunglasses. A renowned cook, Frances made the best tortillas and tamales but her specialty was her chicken mole. A gentle, loving, caring woman, Frances leaves a legacy of devotion and steadfastness that will be carried forward for many future generations. Frances is survived by her son, Tony Reznicek and wife, Jan of Caddo Mills; daughter, Betty Martinez and husband, Rafael of Kaufman; grandchildren: Nathan, Jason and Chase Reznicek, Larry and Kim Jackson, Emerencio Rosa, Rafael Martinez III, Eric and Nikko Martinez; great grandchildren: Brook, Connor, Leslye, Tyler, Brittany, and Stetson Jackson; great-great grandchildren: Braelyn Samples and Marley Jackson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends who loved her and will miss her dearly. service will be at 10:00am, , Feb. 11, 2015 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel in Terrell with interment to follow at Hillcrest in Forney. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, , Feb. 10, 2015 at the funeral home.
