Obituary: Elizabeth Artie Renfro contracted West Nile Virus in 2013, she survived for a year before it claimed her life on 31, 2014. She was born 4, 1930 in Kennedy, TX to Thomas and Katie Warlick.Elizabeth grew up all over the place. Her parents were farmers and moved from farm to farm for work. She left school in the 4th grade to start working to help support her younger siblings. In the summer of 1947 she became friends with Billie Renfro, the sister of Charles Renfro who introduced them. On 20, 1947 they were married in Ft. Worth, TX and celebrated their 66th anniversary last year. Elizabeth was a beautiful woman with a wonderful personality and a love of children. She not only raised her children but helped care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known by the neighborhood and her childrens friends as Granny.Since she left school so early she never learned to read or write but that didn stop her helping her children with their school work. She was very giving, and never asked for anything in return. Elizabeth was more like a best friend who gave unconditional love and forgiveness. She was the best wife and mother, who accepted everyone as they are. And you always knew if she liked you because she would give you a nickname.Elizabeth was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, before moving to First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie 15 years ago to be with her children. She loved jewelry, cloths, sweet tea and sweets. One of her favorite snacks was a cold can of pork n beans with potato chips. She was a New York Yankee and Derek Jeter fan. Famous for telling stories she never let you leave without hearing the whole thing. She enjoyed playing solitar on the computer and working on projects around the house. Obituary: Dave Evan Renfro, Jr., 90, of Briggs, Texas, passed away on , 9, 2016. Born on 3, 1925 in Gorman, Texas, Dave lived all over the world but loved living in the Austin area. In 1943 as an 18 year old high school senior, Dave felt his patriotic duty and enlisted in the Army Air Corps (now US Air Force) to defend our country during WW II. He became a nose gunner on a B 24 Bomber, 5th Bomb Group, 23rd Squadron. He proudly served until the end of the war. With special dispensation from the Armed Forces, Dave attended SWTSTC (now Texas State University, San Marcos). Dave later moved to the Gulf Coast to raise his young family. Dave was a proud member of the St. John's Masonic Lodge # 5 in West Columbia, Texas for over 60 years. Dave loved to travel and his professional career as a petrochemical engineer was the perfect fit. In retirement, he continued to travel with his wife of 47 years, Irene Renfro. traveled to every state in the lower 48 and Alaska. He was most happy when he could be on the road again. Dave could fix just about anything as long as he had WD40 and duck tape. He was a connoisseur of old Western movies - watching them until the wee hours of the morning. One of the highlights of his later years was his own honor flight to visit the WW II Memorial in Washington DC, accompanied by his wife and daughters. Dave was a proud man -proud to be a Texan, proud of being from Austin, proud to be a veteran, proud to be married to Irene, and so very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he adored. Dave is survived by his wife of 47 years, Irene S. Renfro; his daughters, Kathy Pothier (Ed), Deb Myers (David), Karla Bailey (Marc); sister-in-law, Addie Renfro; grandchildren, Dee Spinelli (James), Dana Kondrat (Kevin), Dawne Pothier, Nathan Myers and Nick LaGrassa; great-grandchildren, Samantha Olson, Phenix Spinelli (US Navy), Rhavin Spinelli, Jared Kondrat, Maxx Spinelli, Emily Warren, Olivia LaGrassa and Ava LaGrassa; as well as by many loving nieces, nephews, family and good friends. Dave was preceded in death by his parents D. E. and Ethel Renfro, brothers Jack Renfro, Mac Renfro and Bill Renfro, his son Dave Evan Renfro, III and granddaughter Sarah Myers LaGrassa, nephews Jimmy Dave Renfro, Terry Renfro, Freddy Cooper, Rick Renfro and niece Sherry Renfro. Obituary: Charlsie Renfro was born 10, 1928 to Jess and Murl Clinkscales Marlin on a farm in Elmer, Oklahoma. At a young age her family moved to Dodd City, Texas where she was raised on a farm with her siblings. She had started school in Elmer but graduated from Dodd City High School in 1946. It is in Dodd City where she me Kenneth Wayne Renfro and they were married on 14, 1947. She and Kenneth bought a sewing machine and vacuum cleaner business in Bonham, Texas in 1954. The business was Renfro Sewing Machine and Vacuum Sales and Service. She and Kenneth ran the business until Kenneths death in 1999 and Charlsie took over and operated it until 2012 when her health started to decline. Charlsie was a member of the Business and Professional Womens Club where she was Woman of the year from 1987 until 1988. Charlsie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bonham where she helped with the MYF and taught school for many years. On , 7, 2015 Charlsie went to be with her Lord with her son Larry and his wife Donna at her side. A Celebration of Charlsies life will be at 2:00PM , 12, 2015 at Mullican-Little Chapel in Bells/Savoy, Texas. Reverend Dee Norton of the Ector First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Dodd City . Charlsie is survived by her son Larry Renfro and his wife Donna of Sherman, brother Ray Marlin of Ft. Worth, sisters Kay Long and her husband Dwaine of Sharon, OK and Mary Holt of Sedgwick, Kansas, sisters-in-law Pauline Campbell of Grand Prairie and Laverna Verheyden of Jacksonville, TX, grandchildren Stephen and Pam Russell and Sarah and Ryan Martinez, and great grandchild Claire Martinez, also numerous nieces and nephews.
