Obituary: Thelma Doris McNeil Reid, 89, went to be with her Lord on the 8th. She was born 8, 1925 near Cleveland, Mississippi to Clarence McNeil and Volora Swinger McNeil. She is reunited with the love of her life of 48 years, Roy Reid, who preceded her. She was an amazing wife to Roy, a mom to six children, grandmother to fourteen, great grandmother to thirteen, and great great grandmother to one. As a Registered Nurse, many will remember the acts of love, kindness, and compassion she showed toward them and their families. Thelma took great pride in her faith, her family, her home, and the beautiful flowers she was able to grow with that amazing green thumb. She is survived by her children: Mike Reid and wife Glenda of Rockwall, Anitra Riddle and husband Rick of Longview, Dennis Reid of Hallsville, Linda Collier and husband James of Rockwall, Brenda Green and husband Terry of Longview and Kenneth Reid and wife Tamara of Sherman. She is also survived by a brother, Stanley McNeil and wife Jane of Boyle, Miss. She is preceded by her parents, two brothers Elbert McNeil and wife Lorine and Jimmy McNeil and wife Dorothy, and two sisters Anna Hoyle and husband Dean and Margie Balducci and husband Marshall. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., , 11, 2014 at the Chapel of Lakeview . Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on , 10, 2014 also at Lakeview . Pallbearers are Grandsons: Mike and Mark Walker, Darby Collier, Damon Reid, Blake Green, and Frisco Reid. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Georgia Anna Pearl Reid, age 83, who passed away on , 28, 2003. Sydney Frank Reid was born on 29, 1921 and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He joined the Army in 1939 and served for 30 years, retiring in 1969 as a Command Sergeant Major. His career in the Army brought him and his family to many parts of the world, including the Philippines, Okinawa, Japan, Washington, Illinois, California, and Texas. retiring from the Army, Sydney pursued a second career as a banker in San Francisco. Mr. and Mrs. Reid retired to San Antonio in 1986. Georgia Anna Pearl Reid was born on 8, 1920 in Silverton, Texas, and was raised in Pampa. She moved with her family to Gardena, California in 1940, where she later met Sydney at a USO dance. were married on 31, 1942, and followed her husband around the world, raising 2 loving children. Anna also enjoyed a career in banking in San Francisco before retiring. She was an avid gardener all of her life, taking special pride in her roses and amaryllis. Obituary: Spencer Lloyd Reid, 56, of Austin, TX, died 14, 2010, following a lengthy illness. He was born 5, 1954, to Bill and Alice Reid of Lamesa, TX. The valedictorian and graduate of the class of 1972 from Lamesa High School, Spencer went on to graduate with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1976 and then the University of Texas Law School in 1979. He married his wife of almost thirty years, Royce Christine Larson, on 18, 1981. Spencer retired as General Counsel for the Lieutenant Governor after serving the state of Texas for over 30 years. Previous to the Texas Senate, he served most of the years in various capacities at the Texas General Land Office. His activities for the State of Texas all began with his job as Assistant Sergeant at Arms for the Texas House when he was 18 years old. Spencer was a very dedicated husband and father, participating actively in his childrens activities and educations. He was a strong man of faith and the spiritual leader of his family. A beloved son and brother, he enjoyed growing up on his familys farm in Lamesa, TX. It was also a place that he shared with his children later in life. He took his knowledge of farming into his later days and was known to be in the yard with his plants and even kept a garden until his final years. Spencer also enjoyed traveling and camping with family, always sharing his knowledge of the land and nature that he cherished. He never took for granted any day that he was able to spend with his family. Spencer was preceded in death by his father, Bill Reid and his in laws Arthur and Genevieve Larson. He is survived by his wife Royce, his son Hayden and his wife Jennifer, son Taylor and his wife Samantha, daughter Ryan and son Duncan. He is also survived by his mother Alice Reid of Lamesa, brother Cody and his wife Karen, sister Katrina and her husband Richard, brother Randy and his wife Anna. He was blessed to have seen his first granddaughter, Blake Emily Reid, born 4, 2010. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Spencer touched so many peoples lives and will be dearly missed. We are all better for having known him. Obituary: Col Salvie L. Reid (USAF Ret) joined his Lord on 3, 2010 at the age of 88 after a long illness. Col Reid was born in Portsmouth, NH and grew up in Boston, MA. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr and Mrs Avon Reid and his three sisters Carlita Hunt, Helen Kubit, and Shirley Whitney. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Pauline (Polly) Reid, his daughters, Teresa (Teri) and Deborah (Debbi) Reid, his two sisters, Janet Hartnett and Gwen Braveman, and many nieces and nephews. Col Reid had a long and distinguished career. He entered the service in 1941 and was a survivor of Pearl Harbor. He was also a survivor of both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He received the Bronze Star with several oak leaf clusters, the Legion of Merit and many commendations. He spent much of his career as an integral part of the HQ 1007th Air Intelligence Group, Joint Command in Washington DC. He was Squadron Commander at HQ 3970th ABG at Torrejon AFB, Spain. He was director of military personnel at the US Air Force Academy, Chief of the Separations Division, AF Personnel at Randolph AFB, and Director of Personnel at the AF Reserve Personnel and Finance at Lowry AFB. When he retired from the AF in 1975, he proudly initiated a JROTC unit at Milwaukee Tech in Milwaukee, WI. Upon retiring in San Antonio, he became a full time substitute teacher for Judson, NEISD, and Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD. Col Reid volunteered in many areas, teaching English as a Second Language, mediating for the Bexar Dispute Resolution , and various other areas. He was a people person, and loved his students, encouraging all of them to advance their educations. Col Reid enjoyed telling stories and teasing his kids with unbelievable yarns, but his striking blue eyes would twinkle as the tease became obvious. He loved his family and friends, his God and his country, and fresh ocean air. Everyone who knew him adored him. He faced his decline bravely and continued to be upbeat until the Lord called him home. Visitation will be , 9, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Colonial . Obituary: Born 2, 1941 in Gary, Indiana and passed away 21, 2012 in Dallas, Texas. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 am, , 1, 2012 at the Chapel of Sparkman/Crane in Dallas, Texas. Robert attended Bryan Adams High School and UT Arlington. He served proudly in the US Army as a helicopter mechanic at Ft. Benning, Georgia. during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Robert was accomplished at many things and always had a thirst for knowledge. He worked as a crop duster, and also at Texas Power & Light, and Xerox. Robert was an expert machinist and draftsman when he started with FABTECH. He was CEO of FABTECH as the company helped develop parts for the aerospace industry and the Super Collider. His numerous adventures included: photography, building stained art work, a pilot in the Civil Air Patrol at White Rock Airport, and he also raced cars with his family through the many organizations around Texas including the Mountain Creek Rallye Club, GVRA, SCCA and the Dallas Sports Car Club.
