Obituary: Michael Dan Rachels Sr., 64, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on 6, 2016 after a 12 year courageous fight against multiple myeloma. He was born on 18, 1952 in Clanton, Alabama to his parents Donald and Billie Jean (Morgan) Rachels. Michael worked as an equipment manager mostly working with large cranes at Lampson International. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being outdoors. Proceeded in death by his sister Sandra Chandler and step-mom Doris Rachels. He is survived by his wife, Mary Rachels; son Michael Rachels II his wife Tara, step-son Derek Etheridge; step-daughter Nicole Lopez her husband Larry; brothers, Wayne Rachels and his wife Barbara, and Phillip Rachels and his wife Diane; Step-brothers, Larry Carroll and his wife Mary Ann, Tim Carroll and his wife Landra; grandchildren, Cayden Rachels, Avaleigh Rachels, Mason Roy, Ezra Juarez, Mia Juarez, Andrew Small, Jazmin Lopez, Anthony Lopez, Amarissa Lopez, and Azalea Punkin Lopez; great-grandchildren, Jace and Violet Ontiveros. Obituary: Rev. Hoytt W. Rachels, Sr., 87, of Lubbock passed way on 11, 2014 at his home. A visitation will be held on 14, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Resthaven . Services celebrating his life will be held on 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm in Resthaven s Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. He was born on 17, 1926 in Scurry , NC to the late Richard and Eva (Creed) Rachels. He joined the United States Army and served from 1948 until 1952. He reached rank Sergeant. He married Annie Bryant on 13, 1960 and together they raised there family and served the Lord. He retired as the Pastor of Butler Heights Baptist Church and had been attending Rock of Ages Baptist Church. God was the center of his life. He enjoyed preaching and took any opportunity to share Gods word. At his retirement he had been preaching for almost 50 years. During this time he led many to the Lord through the court systems, and a half way house. Rev. Rachels is survived by 4 daughters, Carolyn Sue Rachels of Mocksville, NC, Kay Gray and Peggy Bryant both of Lubbock and Nancy Keith of Darrohzett, TX; 3 sons, Clifton Brown and wife Vicki of Lubbock, Hoytt Rachels III and wife Rita of Shallowater, TX and Gerald Dean Rachels of Salisbury, NC; 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Obituary: Kathy Jo Rachel, a loving daughter, sister and friend to all that she knew, went home to be with Jesus in heaven on , Jan. 10, 2014, after a long illness. Service: 3 p.m. at Moore , 1219 North Davis, Arlington. Burial will be in Moore Memorial Gardens, immediately following. Family visitation: 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Moore . Memorials: May be sent to Pleasantview Baptist Church, Arlington, Texas, Benevolent Fund. Kathy was born on May 29, 1971, in Cuero. She was adopted by her parents, Bob and Janice Rachel, at the age of 3 months, and spent her first 34 years with them in Arlington. In 2004 her mother passed away, and in May 2005 Kathy was placed in a group home where she was passionately cared for by the loving staff at Texas Quality , for the remainder of her time here on earth. Kathy lived a very difficult life, suffering from bipolar disorder, and many other challenges too numerous to mention. She worked in her father's business for a number years, until she was no longer able. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Rachel, in 2004. Survivors: Her father, Bob Rachel Sr. and wife, Keri Rachel, of Arlington; brothers, William Kelton Rachel and wife, Cheryl, of Burleson and Bobby Van Rachel Jr. and wife, Kari, of Arlington; along with many, many friends and the staff at Texas Quality . |
