Obituary: Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 LUCILLE EVELYN ROWLAND Lucille Evelyn Rowland, 86, of Kingsport departed her earthly home ( 22, 2010) surrounded by her family. She is now and for eternity Sheltered in the Arms of God free from all sorrow and pain. Mrs. Rowland was born 10, 1923 in Appalachia, Virginia. Most importantly she loved the Lord with all her heart and that love was reflected in the kindness she freely bestowed upon others. She was a member of Living Praise Assembly of God. She enjoyed her flowerbeds in the summer and delighted in making and keeping a home for Harv and herself. She loved and believed in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lucille had the gift of unconditional love, never judging or accusing. She was a prayer warrior, if she were praying for you God allowed you to feel it. She leaves this family with hearts full of love, many precious memories, and the highest of values instilled within them. She is preceded in death by her parents: Kelly and Buena Lane, father of her daughters, Jack D. Brooks, her husband of 45 years, Harvey Lee Rowland, sister, Ada Williams and brother Edgar Lane, grandson Jeffery Scott Bledsoe, great-grandson, A. J. Grizzel. Survivors include her daughters, Carole Swenson and husband Lars of Kingsport, and Wanda Bledsoe and husband Jack of Gray; one son, Tim Rowland and fiancée Teresa Cobb of Jonesborough; grandchildren, Joey Grizzel and wife Shelly of Lead, SD, Steven Grizzel of Kingsport, Dr. Kim Brandau of Carlsbad, CA, Erik Swenson and wife Terese of San Jose, CA and Amy Hampton and husband Seth of Erwin, TN; great-grandchildren: Chris and Jessee Grizzel of Rogersville, TN, Corbin Grizzel of Lead, SD, Devon, Brandon, Sean, Lauren Berger of Carlsbad, CA, Veronica Ann Swenson of San Jose, CA, Jeffery Skylar Bledsoe of Gray, TN and Kyra Raine Hampton of Erwin, TN; one sister Elsie Hunt of Indian Springs, TN. The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. ( 25, 2010 at East Lawn and at other hours at the residence. Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Bob Yates officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Dingus, Jack Bledsoe and Skylar Bledsoe. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to Living Praise Assembly of God, 207 New Beason Well Road, Kingsport, TN 37660.
