Obituary: George Rowland age 87 of Tazewell, TN was born 21, 1928 and went to be with the Lord 4, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was saved at an early age. He was baptized and joined Hopewell Baptist Church in 1972. He was also a Deacon and member still at Hopewell Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Singleton and Lydia Rowland; sisters Hazel Earls and Bessie Lock; brothers Bill, Lawrence (Shorty) and Hubert Rowland. Obituary: Evelyn Elizabeth Rowland, 95 of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2017. She was born and raised in Chattanooga and at the age of 18 she went to work with the Tennessee American Water where she retired after more than 40 years of service. She started the credit union for the water company shortly after she began working there. Following her retirement she was an avid traveler and was able to see most of the country. She was a member of the Ridgedale Baptist Church. Left behind to cherish her memory are her brother; James D. and wife Joyce Beasley, Chattanooga, and a sister; Betty Kutlay, New York, and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Evelyns Life will be held on May 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Bill Owens officiating. The family will receive friends on beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South, Rossville, Georgia. Obituary: Clifford Michael Rowland, better known to his family, friends, and colleagues as Chip, passed away , 23, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born 27, 1955 to Dorothy Ramsey Rowland and the late Benjamin Gordon Rowland in Knoxville, TN. Chip is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rita Reesor Rowland, mother Dot Rowland, brothers Greg Rowland (Jennifer Carpenter) and Jeff Rowland (Diane Sartori) and the many nieces and nephews who adored him because with them he was just a big kid who loved to play with them when they were small and kept playing with them as they have been growing up. are Ava Rowland; Kaylee, Morgan, Brooklynn, and Reese Webster; Erin Webster Kramer (Justin); Layne, Michael, Lee and Becky Reesor; and Kyle, Evan and Dillon Reesor. Chip trained to be a boilermaker early in life but soon learned that he had an extraordinary talent in counseling and became a certified substance abuse counselor. Over the last thirty-three years he has counseled and impacted the lives of more amazing people than one can count, many of whom credit him as an inspiration and a key component in achieving his or her sobriety. Along the way his counseling career included working at Peninsula Hospital, Peninsula Lighthouse, CARE, Hope of East Tennessee and more. He had a passion for all things that raced including Formula 1, Indy Cars, boats, and motorcycles and attended many live events over the years. Chip also loved to travel both in the states and especially in Europe. His favorite place was usually wherever he was at the moment. The family will receive friends , 26 from 3:00 until 4:00 with a memorial service following at Holley-Gamble in Clinton. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to be made to Remote Area Medical (RAM), the Humane Society or other charity of ones choice. |
