Obituary: Susan Ford Read, age 59, died too soon on the morning of 7, 2012. She was born on 31, 1952 to the late Woodrow Ford & Louise (Sullivan) Ford. Susan graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1970, where she was constantly picked for playing the piano for school assemblies & all the choral productions. She graduated from MTSU in 1974, with a degree in Business & was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. Susan was smart, dependable, & organized when it came to business. She has been the co-owner of an electronic design company, Sine Systems, since the death of the Founder John Pate, in 1998. At one time in her life, she loved living in the country, having both a mule and a goat. Her love of animals brought her the most joy in life and she was a true mother to her pets, who will miss her terribly. Susan married the love of her life, Kenny, whom she met when they both worked at Tennessee Wheel, where they still have many friends. Kenny supported her through her first round of cancer, at age 32, going into remission until five years ago. Susan fought an unbelievably strong battle with cancer both times & never, until recently, missed a day of work due to chemo or treatments. She will be remembered for her positive attitude & her realistic, no-nonsense approach to life, as well as death. Left to remember her is her loving husband, Kenneth Read; Aunt Bettye & Uncle Jerry Waller & many cousins and friends who loved her. Her dear cousin, Little Jerry, passed away in 2004. Services will be held 2:30 p.m. , 10, 2012, in Woodlawns Dignity Hall with Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on , 9th from 4 p.m until 8 p.m. & on , 10th, from 10 until time of services at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton and Memorial Park, Nashville, TN. |

Obituary: Pastor Peter Read, 82, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away, , 30, 2016, at his residence. He was born 15, 1934 to the late Kate and Ernest Charles Read in Watford, England. Peter attended Newbold graduating with his ministerial diploma in 1954 and later graduated with a BA in Religion from Southern Missionary in 1955. He was a pastor for the Seventh-day Adventist Church and his pastoral duties began in Canada then to England and later to Dayton, Ohio in 1968 and to Tennessee in 1981. Peter loved the outdoors and was passionate about gardening. He was also an avid collector of model trains. He is survived by his loving wife, Fay Hanna, three daughters, Kathy (Norman) Brooks, of Ooltewah, TN, Cheryl (Tim) Eberhardt, of Ukiah, CA, Magen (Soua) Vang, of Florence, KY, two grandchildren, Chrissy (Josh) Parson, Peter Eberhardt, one great-grandson, Azariah Joe and numerous extended family relatives in England and the US. services will be held 4:00 pm, , 3rd, at Chattanooga First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7450 Standifer Gap Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee, with Pastor Dale Tunnell officiating. Obituary: Read, Lucas Tate, age 21, of South Knoxville, passed away as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on 10, 2015. Lucas was proud to be born and raised in South Knoxville and was a member of the South Doyle class of 2013. Lucas was a zipline tour guide at CLIMB Works in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and also was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Lucas loved his family dearly. He is survived by his parents, Randy and Debbe Read and his brothers and sisters and their families; Michelle (Wally) Strickland,Kelsea Damaris (Monk) Neiland, Jarrad (Kinslee) Read, Ryan (Kayla) Read, Dalton Read (Hannah Armes) and Makenzie Read; nephews and niece, Zeke Strickland, Braelyn and Maxton Read, Joah and Beckham Read, who were the lights of his life. Lucas had a big heart that overflowed with love for his many close friends. His family is so grateful for the outpouring of love and the stories that his friends are sharing about him.
