Obituary: Rosemarie Martha Galli Ray died on , 1 at her home on Elder Mountain. She was 87. Born on 28, 1929 in Zweibrucken, Germany, Rosemarie lived through the great depression and World War 2 and later worked as a short order cook during the Korean War. It was at the diner located near an American base that she met the love of her life. Bob and Rosemarie dated secretly for months, afraid to tell Rosemaries father about their relationship. Eventually the truth came out and her family came to love the shy, sweet American soldier that stole her heart. The two were married in Germany and later moved to America when Bobs service to his country ended. Rosemarie was gregarious, caring and passionate about life and those she loved. She was a devoted wife and a treasured mother who loved taking care of her family. She was an avid reader and she took great joy in serving others at Wauhatchie United Methodist Church. She adored her grandchildren and spent as much time as she could babysitting and making memories Rosemarie will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Ray of Elder Mountain and daughter, Lisa (Randy) Pierce of Franklin TN. and was predeceased by her husband Bob. She is survived by grandchildren Jonathan Pierce of Memphis, Weston Pierce (Katherine) of Franklin and Elise Pierce of Franklin and devoted family friends James and Luanne Parker and their children Heather Parker and Hilary Richards. Rosemarie shared a deep bond with Heather and Hilary and considered them her adopted grandchildren. Rosemarie's family in Germany remained close in her thoughts to the end and their love for each other bridged the distance that separated them. She is survived by siblings, Brigitte (Franz) Spies, Gudrun (Hans) Becker, Giselher (Ursula) Galli and Gernot Galli and Goddaughter Anna (Andre) Glumm. She was predeceased by brother, Gunter Galli. The celebration of Rosemaries life will be held 2:00 , 4, 2016 at Wauhatchie United Methodist Church with Reverend Christina DowlingSoka officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Chattanooga , North Chapel from 4-7 and at the church from 1-2 .
