Also preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Lettie Viola Romines; step-mother, Ollie Romines; brother, Clyde (Bud) Romines and wife, Helen. Survived by daughter and husband, Jason and Kay Ramsey Gordon; sons, Steve Ramsey and wife, Sue, and Roger Ramsey. Obituary: RAMSEY, John Perry J.P., Jr., age 89, went home to be with his Lord on 8, 2013. He is preceded in death by his oldest son, Tracy Webb Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey is survived by his wife of seventy two years, Elizabeth Ramsey; son, Presley Ramsey and daughter, Perri-lynn (David) White; grandchildren, Chad Webb (Melisa) Ramsey, Julianne Elizabeth Ramsey, Brett Presley Ramsey and Dailyn Rae White; two great grandsons, Carson and Meyer Ramsey; and a sister, Virginia Hardison. J.P. was born in Lewisburg, Tenn. He served in WWII and was stationed in the Philippine Islands. He was employed at McCord Crane Service, owner of Capital Crane Service and employed at Sentry Steel Service. Mr. Ramsey collected antique lamps and collector pocket knives. He was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Visitation will be held from one until five oclock in the afternoon on , the 11th of , 2013 at Granny White Church of Christ located at 3805 Granny White Pike in Nashville, TN. A funeral service will be held at eleven oclock in the morning on , the 12th of , at Granny White Church of Christ with visitation held one hour prior to the service, officiated by Dale Jenkins, Minister of Spring Meadows Church of Christ. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Don Jarrell, Mac Stillwell, Leslie Lasater, Richard Lasater, Scott Ellis and Keith Hopper. The Elders and Deacons of Granny White Church of Christ, Scott Boatright and Gene McKennon will serve as honorary pallbearers. |

Matt. 25:21 James L. Ramsey, 86, of Harrogate, TN succumbed to his bout with cancer and went home to be with his Savior. He was a deacon of Gibson Station Missionary Baptist Church and served his community as a Mason of Big Spring Union Lodge. He was born on 24, 1929 to the late Jimmie and Blanche Ramsey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Spurgeon, Ewing, Carl, and Paul Ramsey, and sisters Pauline Montgomery, Eula Grey Surber and Elverta Ramsey, (Infant). He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Maude Ramsey of Harrogate, TN Sons: Gary Ramsey and wife Pat of Ewing, VA Jimmy Ramsey and wife Fay of Bean Station, TN Mike Ramsey and fiancé Darla Williams of Harrogate, TN Six Grandchildren: Jeff Ramsey of Ewing, VA Jennifer Seals of Jacksboro, TN Stephen Ramsey of Ewing, VA Chris Ramsey of Athens, AL Aaron Ramsey of Middlesboro, KY Eric Ramsey of Louisville, KY 11 great Grandchildren. And a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Gibson Station Missionary Baptist Church in Gibson Station, VA, on , 20 from 6-8 pm. There will be a Masonic service at 8:00 P.M. with the funeral to follow. Church members will serve as pallbearers and the music will be provided by Gibson Station Singers. Friends and family will gather for a final viewing at the church morning at 10:00 A.M. James will be buried in the Shoffner in Harrogate, TN. Coffey in charge of arrangements. |
