Obituary: Rita Fern Royer, 80, of Charlotte passed away peacefully with family by her side on evening, 20, 2017. She was born on 6, 1937 in Tipton, OK to Elmer and Gussie Kirk. She was preceded in death by her husband Rick Royer, mother Gussie Bohannon, father Elmer Kirk, step-mother Bernice Kirk, sister Betty Knight and brother-in-law Don Knight. She is survived by her sons Ricky Royer of Charlotte and Randy Royer and his wife Sue of Indian Land, SC, three grandchildren Holly, Randall and Richie, niece Cheryl Moss and her husband Michael, nephew Donnie Knight and his wife Sandy, as well as great and great-great nephews and nieces. Rita was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She never met a stranger and generous to a fault. She loved being with people and hearing stories about their life experiences and she definitely enjoyed sharing a few stories of her own, especially stories about her grandchildren. In the precious final days preceding her death, Rita was surrounded by family and friends. We will forever cherish this time and will always remember the big smiles that brightened up the whole room. A visitation for Mrs. Royer is scheduled for , 25 at 1 pm at Forest Lawn West . The funeral will begin at 2pm in the Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West . Burial will be held in the Forest Lawn West under the direction of Forest Lawn West & Cremation Service, Charlotte, NC. |
