Obituary: COLUMBIA - service for Gertrude Trotter Roland, 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on , 13, 2015 at North Trenholm Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Dunbar , Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. Roland passed away , 11, 2015. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late W.P. Trotter and Mary McLeod Trotter. She was the wife of the late Willie Emanuel Roland. Mrs. Roland was an active member of North Trenholm Baptist Church, the Anderson-Quattlebaum School Class and the Senior Choir. She loved working with the children in School and Children’s Choir. Mrs. Roland dedicated her time to the church in many capacities. For the past year, she was also a member of the Senior Adult Choir of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Roland was a graduate of Columbia High School and a 1947 graduate of Columbia Hospital School of . She was a Registered Nurse with Columbia Hospital and the Student at USC retiring in 1992. She loved to travel, read, work crossword puzzles, watch the USC Gamecocks play and most of all, babysit her grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Roland Anderson; sons, Paul E. Roland (Lynn), Charles E. Roland; brother, George Trotter; sisters, Nell Funderburk, Grace Roland; grandchildren, Patrick Roland, Marianne Roland Phillips, Timothy Anderson (Patricia); step-grandchildren, Kevin (Lori) Anderson, Mark Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jordan Phillips, Ethan Phillips, C.J. Roland, Aurora Anderson; step-great-grandchildren, Ashlee Anderson and Kristy Anderson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Dennis Anderson; brothers, Pickney Trotter, Eugene Trotter; and aunt, Gertrude McLeod. Obituary: Oct. 9, 1925 -Feb. 1, 2015 Ruth Belle Collins Rohrabaugh, 89, loving mother, grandmother and sister, passed away , Feb. 1, following a period of declining health. She was born in Seneca, S.C., as the oldest of seven children of the late James and Essie Lee Collins. Ruth, formerly of Greenville, S.C., had been living the past few years near her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in Gwinnett , Ga. Ruth served as a secretary in several elementary schools in Greenville. She loved gardening and always had flowers blooming in her yard. Shopping was another favorite pastime, especially when finding clothes for her grandchildren on sale. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she had more Christmas decorations and Santa Clauses than you'd know what to do with. She also enjoyed playing bridge and in her younger days square dancing. She spent countless hours keeping up with the lives of her friends and family via letters, email and Facebook. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bill Rohrabaugh in 2009. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Mike and Susan Rohrabaugh of Norcross, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Doris Collins of Virginia; sisters, Evelyn Thompson of Johns Creek, Ga., and Helen Tucker of Marietta, S.C., sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Jack Rothell of Florence, S.C.; grandchildren, Shannon Rohrabaugh Casas of Gainesville, Ga., and Daniel, Kelly and Kirsten Rohrabaugh, all of Atlanta; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her husband, Ruth was predeceased by brothers and sisters-in-law, Willard Collins and Ginger and Lloyd and LaVersa Collins; and brothers-in-law Pete Tucker and Eddie Thompson. Visitation is set for 9:30 a.m. with the service at 11:30 a.m. at Woodlawn in Greenville, S.C.
