The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service, from 4:00PM - 6:00PM. Jon was born 1, 1966 in Gulfport, Mississippi, son of the late Joseph Clarence Reno and Joan Patrick. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy and retired after 20 years of service. Following his retirement, Jon continued his work as a Technician, working for the Naval Information Warfare Atlantic. Above all things, Jon was a good family man. He absolutely adored his children and would do anything in the world for them. Jon was a man of the outdoors and loved to fish, hunt and go shrimping. Jon was a tinkerer and a fixer of all things. If he ever needed to figure out how to fix something, he would simply watch videos and teach himself. He was self-proclaimed, YouTube Certified. Jon also loved watching movies on his home theater system, equipped with amazing surround sound, which he would crank to the highest decibels that would often shake the house with the bass levels! He is survived by his loving wife; one daughter, Janessa Karin Daniels and her husband, Joseph, of Bloomington, MN; one son, Jon LJ Martin Reno; two brothers, Gene Reno of Gulfport, MS and Curtis Reno and his wife, Teresa, of Saucier, MS; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Obituary: Carl Edward Renken, Sr., 79, of Charleston, South Carolina, husband of Helen Thomas Renken passed away on , 24, 2015, at Roper Hospital. His Service will be held , 29, 2015 in St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 405 King Street at 12:00 p.m. Burial services will be private. Immediately following the funeral service, there will be a reception at The Citadel Holliday Alumni , 69 Hagood Avenue. by J. HENRY STUHR INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street, Charleston, SC. Carl was born 12, 1935 in Charleston, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Walter A. and Azile H. Renken. Carl was a graduate of Charleston High in 1954 where he was selected to the high school all-American football team and invited to play in the Shrine Bowl and North-South football games. He attended The Citadel on a Football Scholarship and then graduated in 1958. He then graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School in 1961. He was later inducted into the Citadel Athletic Hall of Fame as an honorary member in 2004. Two years later in 2006, Carl was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Administration from the Citadel. Carl married his high school sweetheart Helen Thomas on May 31, 1958 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, and they were happily married for fifty-seven years. Carl and Helen had two sons, Carl Edward Renken Jr., and Frederick Hackemann Renken. Carl was the president of Renken Boat until he retired in 1995. Carl was also always active within the community. He is the past president of the West Ashley Jaycees and Optimist Club of Charleston. He is a senior member of the Hibernian Society and a former member of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army. The Renken family are members of St. Matthews Lutheran Church where Carl was an extremely active participant. He served as the president of the congregation council for many years where he worked on various project such as: rebuilding the church after the fire of 1965 and instrumental in the establishment of the St. Matthews Outreach . He was also the president of the Citadel Brigadier Club, Charleston Citadel Club, and Citadel Alumni Association. He is survived by his wife, Helen Thomas Renken, his two sons Carl Edward Renken Jr (Mary Lee) and Frederick Hackemann Renken, his sister Ann Renken Hoshall (Frank), as well as four granddaughters, Frances, Helen, Tanner, and Harlan Renken. He is preceded in death by his mother and father as well as three brothers (Walter Jr., Kenneth, Ralph). In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to St. Matthews Lutheran Church Capital Campaign Fund, 405 King Street, Charleston, SC 29403 and/or The Citadel Alumni Association, 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29409.

Obituary: Dr. Geoffrey Edmund Renk, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away at home on 30, 2017, after a long illness. He was 62. Dr. Renk was born and raised at the Jersey Shore. He was educated at Boston and Rutgers (B.A. 1976); and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston (M.S. 1979; M.D., Ph.D. 1986). His doctoral research was conducted under Dr. Rosalie Crouch. a residency in Emergency Medicine at Martin Luther King Hospital in Los Angeles, Dr. Renk practiced emergency medicine throughout the Los Angeles area. Beginning in 1997, he practiced emergency medicine in Charleston at St. Francis Hospital for almost 20 years. Dr. Renk served in virtually every capacity imaginable for both his physician group, Charleston Emergency Services, and the hospital. Some of his most notable positions included Medical Director of the Emergency Department of St. Francis Hospital,
during which time he assisted in building the current Emergency Department there, and President of both his physician group and South Carolina of Emergency Physicians. He also served on the Board of Directors for Bon Secours-St. Francis Hospital, and on numerous committees there including the
Medical Executive Committee. Dr. Renk was a Fellow of the American of Emergency Physicians. He was Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Renk was an avid sailor, tennis player, skier and windsurfer. He had a lifelong passion for all types of music; he was proficient on guitar and drums. In his youth, he played in several bands at the Jersey Shore. Recently, he began studying piano under Susan McAdoo. Surviving him are his wife, Lisa Flaggman, here; his stepmother, Betty Renk, of Lakewood, New Jersey; his mother-in-law, Mazie Flaggman, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; his brother, Henry J, Renk of Spring Lake, New Jersey and his wife, Lyn; his brother Michael J. Renk of Manasquan, New Jersey and his wife,
Anne; his sister Barbara Renk Merlie of New Britain, Pennsylvania and her husband Alfred J. Merlie; and his sister-in-law, Amy Lichtenstein, of Highland Park, Illinois. Dr. Renk was predeceased by his parents, Edmund C. Renk and Mary Dignan Renk, late of Sea Girt, New Jersey and his brother, Thomas S. Renk,
late of Berkeley, California. Geoff and Lisa also were blessed with numerous friends in Charleston. A memorial service will be held at Alhambra Hall, 134 Middle Street, Mt.
