Obituary: George Rick Rebar, 92, of 175 Ella Drive and husband of Loretta Morgan-Rebar, passed away 12, 2013 at his home. He would have been 93 on 29, 2013. Mr. Rebar was born in Portage, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Stephan and Mary K. Rebar, and was raised in Detroit, Michigan. He was a veteran of W.W. II having served in the Army Air Corps and later retired as an Aerospace Engineer. He was a private pilot and loved doing aerobatics. He was a unique and special man who had a passion for life and was genuinely interested in every person he met. In addition to his wife of 32 years, he is survived by daughters, Renee Rebar and Kim Henry, both of California; a step-daughter, Jacqueline Marinaro (Luke), of California; a step-son, Michael Crook (Marisa), of California; 3 grandchildren, Lorah Rebar Marini, Shawn Henry and Jillian Henry, all of California; 4 step-grandchildren and a former son-in-law, Craig Henry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Rebar. Graveside services with Military Honors will be 3:00 pm 14, 2013 in Robinson Memorial Gardens - Veterans Garden. Visitation will follow the service at the graveside. The family is at the home. Obituary: Hercules Warren Reaves affectionately known as Herc went home to his heavenly father on 30, 2015. He was the fourth of seven children born to Fred and Vastina Nance Reaves on 3, 1951. Growing up in a closely knit family, his first teachers were his parents. He had the caring and humble spirit of his mother and the strong work ethics of his father. Hercules was led to the Lord at an early age. He joined New Ebenezer AME Church serving there faithfully as member of the Trustee Board, School Teacher, Choir Director, and Musician for forty-one years. Hercules was educated in the Marion School District graduating from Palmetto High School Class of 1969. He furthered his education at Fayetteville State University earning a Bachelors Degree and later a Masters Degree in Education from South Carolina State University. Hercules began his career as an English Teacher in Marlboro . He later taught in Aiken and retired in 2005 from Darlington where he taught for nineteen years at Hartsville High School. Post retirement he taught in Robeson North Carolina. Hercules loved teaching and was an inspiration to his students. He knew that his students needed to feel that they were of value and could make a positive contribution to society. He was an active member of the Darlington and South Carolina Retired Teachers Association. His passionate hobby was farming, especially sweet potatoes. In addition to his parents, Hercules is preceded in death by his siblings Valerie Reaves Martin, Reverend Franklin C. Reaves, PhD., and Donald Reaves. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife Leola Anderson Reaves, his daughters Tera Cherese (Dowand) McIntyre of Charlotte, North Carolina and Brendalyn (Jonathan) Mashack of Columbia, South Carolina. Brothers, Freddie Lee (Brenda) Reaves of Lockport, New York, Henry Odom Reaves of Hubert, Amanda Reaves (Dwayne) Evans of Charlotte, North Carolina. His Mother-in-Law, Jannie Anderson, Aunts Hattie Nichols of Fredricksburg, Virginia and Rose Nance of Rensselaer, New York. Brother-in Law, Garfield Martin of a, Georgia and Sister-in-Law, Charlotte Reaves of Marion. Grandchildren Jason Farmer, Carlos Farmer, Aaron Gordon, Meshala McIntyre, Justin Mashack and Madison Mashack. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. |
