He was born to Andrew Risenhoover and Minnie Risenhoover on 9, 1934 in Bristow, Oklahoma. Ellis was proceeded in death by a son at birth, both parents, grandparents, and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife Jean Risenhoover of Lexington, OK. Son LaGene Risenhoover and wife Melodi Risenhoover of Lexington, OK. Daughter Brenda Adams and husband Matt Adams of Platte City, MO. He is also survived by 1 grandson Brandon Risenhoover and wife Melissa of Germany. Granddaughter Shannon Rainbow and husband Lance Rainbow of Noble, OK. Granddaughter Lauren Manry and husband Stephen Manry of Noble, OK. Granddaughter Madison Risenhoover of Noble, OK and granddaughter Logan Bidack of Noble, OK. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 sister Lois Cline of Corpus Cristi, TX. Ellis entered into marriage with Jean Risenhoover on 12, 1955. Ellis received his Masters degree from The University of Central Oklahoma, and went on to teach school for 30 years. In 1971 he surrendered to the ministry and became an ordained minister through the Southern Baptist Church and preached for 30 years while teaching school at the same time. retiring from teaching and the ministry, they moved to the Lexington area, when he began working for the East Side Walmart in Norman , OK, where he worked in the sporting goods area for 14 years up until 6 months ago. Ellis loved to hunt quail, run his bird dogs, fish, and tinkering with anything out in his work shop. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. When Ellis passed from this earth, he was going to do what he enjoyed the most, and that was to go worship his Lord and Savior. He is now in the presence of the Lord, and worshiping Him from now and throughout eternity. |

Obituary: services for Mildred Ann (Johnson) Risby will be held on , 29, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Reed-Culver Chapel with Reverend Walter Brown Jr. of Gibson Station, OK officiating. Visitation will be held on , 26th, 2015 from noon until 8:00 PM at the Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Ross in Tahlequah, OK. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.reedculver.com. Pallbearers for Mildred include Maurice Sheppard, Clifton Stewart, Charles Mayfield, Treymonte Evans, Charles Evans Jr., and Monte Mayfield. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Tulsa Lone Riders Club. Flower Girls include Carol Mae Chism and Regina Mayfield. Mildred Ann Risby, or Mimi to her family and friends, was born on 7th, 1941, in Hulbert, OK, the daughter of Nobel Johnson and Clifteen Ridgeway. Mildred attended school in Tahlequah, OK and graduated in 1959. She attended school at Connors State , where she earned her Associates Degree and was very active in a wide variety of student organizations. Later she would attend Northeastern State University. She worked in the allied health field as a CNA and was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever she could. Mildred resided in Tulsa, where she loved to spend time with and share her words of wisdom with her family and best friends, Lillie, Verlene, Pam, Judy, Connie, Renee and the rest of the Lone Riders Riding Club. She loved a day spent outdoors working in her flower beds, working puzzles, or going out to play Bingo with her friend, Lillie. She loved a family gathering and was always looking in on her neighbors with her specialties of beans, greens, and salmon croquettes. She showed people how much she cared by being there to lend support, and she was never shy about telling you her opinion on any given subject at hand. Mildred departed this life on , 22, 2015 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 73 years, nine months, and 15 days. She will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband Nathan Risby, two sisters, Betty Johnson and Marilyn Ridgeway, and seven brothers, Roy Riggs, James Ridgeway, Larry Ridgeway, John Henry Spider Johnson, Charles Johnson, Norvel Johnson, and Claude Johnson. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Vernon McDowell and wife Wanda of Muskogee, OK, and Alfred Ray Johnson of Tulsa, OK. She leaves her sisters, Carolyn Sheppard and husband Maurice of Tahlequah, OK, Carlette Riggs of Tulsa, OK, Norma Jean Keys of Tulsa, OK, Gwen Antwine of Kansas City , MO, Pam Lasane of Atlanta, GA, and Nita Jo Johnson of Tulsa, OK, and two brothers, Calvin Riggs of Tahlequah, OK and Glenn Riggs and Lewanda also of Tahlequah, OK. Her love of life lives on in her four grandchildren, Chris, Demetria, Shameka, and Toni, eighteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones. |
