Obituary: Betty M. Ruckel, age 92, of Cridersville went to be with the Lord 1:59 a.m., 7, 2016 at Lima Memorial Systems. She was born Feb. 13, 1924 in Lima to Edgar and Gertrude Fisher. She married Dallas H. Ruckel Aug. 25, 1959 and he preceded her in death Nov. 30, 2009. Betty had been a Godly wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Lima Baptist Temple She enjoyed working in the nursery at church until the age of 85. She truly enjoyed her ministry there. Survivors include a daughter Hannah Plaugher of Lima, 3 grandchildren Elizabeth and Nathan Plaugher both of Shelby, NC and Timothy Plaugher of Syracuse, NY. Other survivors include a brother Donald Fisher of Delphos and a sister Glenna Walters of Marion, Ohio. She was preceded in death by 7 siblings: Bob Fisher, Ed Fisher, Eleanor Lepley, Juanita Budd, Susie Stephenson, Jeanette Young and Edna Fisher. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., 9, at Lima Baptist Temple with Pastor Gary Hohman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be in Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Lima Baptist Temple Missions Outreach. |

Obituary: Stanley J. Ruck, age 85, of Geneva passed away , 1, 2014 at home. Born 6, 1928, he was the son of Elizabeth (Alick) & Adam Ruck. He married Nancy F. Ivan on 1, 1991. Stanley worked 35 years at Diamond Shamrock and also Western Reserve Farm Co-Op. He also was a school bus driver for Geneva Schools and retired as the Trumbull Township Road Supervisor. Stanley was a founding father of the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Department where he also served as Chief. He was a 1947 graduate of Geneva High School where he played football. Stanley was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Thompson, the Fire Chief Association of Ashtabula and the Footville Ruritans. His entire life revolved around farming and the fire department. He enjoyed polka dancing and watching sports, especially the Cavs and Ohio State. He is survived by his wife, Nancy F. Evans-Ivan-Ruck; children, Robert R. (Karen) Ruck of Geneva, Stanley D. Ruck of Trumbull Twp.; stepchildren, Daniel (Gail) Ivan of Painesville, David (Teresa) Ivan, Seminole, FL, Jenny Ivan of Painesville; grandchildren, Matthew Ruck, Jennifer (Mike) Fink, Adam W. (Suzie) Ruck, Kay Elizabeth Ruck, Scott A. Ruck, Jessie Ivan, Rose Ivan, Abbe (William) Thomure; great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Alyse & Rylie; sisters, Rose Domokos of Westlake, Elizabeth OMerza of Geneva. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Ann E. Ruck; daughter, Evelyn Ruck and; a brother, Steve Ruck. Obituary: George E. Ruck, 99 died after a brief illness the evening of 24, 2014 at Carroll Place where he resided. Mr. Ruck as born 13, 1915, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and was the second son of William R. and Anna Oldroyd Ruck. Following his graduation in 1938 from the University of West Virginia with a degree in mechanical engineering, he joined the U.S. Army Air Force Corps of Engineers. He served as a staff ordnance officer during World War II and achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel. a long career in the glass industry, that included working for the Hazel Atlas Glass and Continental Can Corp. companies, he retired as Technical Director of Product Development from Anchor Hocking Glass in 1979., He was a skilled machinist and amateur gun smith and enjoyed all aspects of shooting sports including target shooting, small game hunting, bullet casting and ammunition loading. In his earlier years he built hunting and target rifles and after retirement, he produced thousands of locks and trigger mechanisms for muzzle loading firearms. He also enjoyed many fishing trips in Ontario, Michigan, and South Carolina with his wife and sons. He was a member of the Lancaster Rifle & Pistol Club and the Valley View Swim Club. Georges love for dogs started with his first boyhood puppy, Patches, and continued through a series of cocker spaniels ending with his faithful companion, Betsy. He is survived by four children and their spouses: George & Elizabeth Ruck,Jr of Grosse Ile, MI; Margaret & Dennis Kissel of Columbus, OH; Patricia and Rob Oakey of Lancaster, OH; and William & Roberta Ruck of Beaver Creek, OH. He also leaves behind eight grand children and five great grandchildren, He was preceded in death his wife of 68 years Lilyan Lawton Ruck, ,his brother William Ruck, Jr. and two sisters Anna Mary Masonheimer and Alice Sanderbeck. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer with Rev. Robert McDowell officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to service on at the funeral home.
