Obituary: Paul Rathbone 1949-2017 Bessemer City – Paul Monroe Rathbone, 68, passed away peacefully on 24, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical . He was born in Haywood to the late Faraday and Hazel Stiles Rathbone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie Rathbone and grandchildren, T.J. and Cassie; brothers, Roy Lee, Jimmy and Ronnie Rathbone. Paul was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed! He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Paul was very much a family man his family was his world; he loved them all immensely. He enjoyed dirt track racing, sitting on the front porch and restoring his 1940 Ford Coupe. Paul retired from the FMC Lithium Plant after many years of dedicated service. He later worked for The Lane Construction Corporation (formerly Rea Contracting, LLC). Left to cherish his memories includes his loving wife of 31 years, Donna Moss Rathbone, his children, Sonya Fox, Scott Daves (Candy), Kenneth Rathbone, Rebecca Sherbert, P.J. Rathbone, Jr., (Amy); Grandchildren, Amber, Josh, Justin, Stacey, Hayden, Tripp, Charley, Mayson, Keyme and Kelsey and great granddaughter Layla. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on , 26th at Withers and Whisenant . Celebration of Life Service will be on , 27, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Fain officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Thornburg, Keith Stone, Tim Soles, Mike Wilkinson and Christopher Boys. Obituary: Clyde- Newell G. Rathbone age 68 of Clyde passed away 28, 2014 at Mission Hospital. He was the son of the late Dave and Geneva Rathbone and was preceded in death by two brothers Junior and Jerry Rathbone. Newell is survived by his wife Betty Lindsey Rathbone, two children: David Rathbone and his wife Calleen of Clyde, Kimberely Roberts and her fiancee Brian Ledford of Waynesville. Loving Grandfather of Joshua Rathbone and fiancee Ashley of Clyde, Abbey Roberts of Waynesville and Great-Grandfather of Jordan Rathbone of Clyde, NC. Brother to Virginia Patterson and husband John of Olive Branch, MS, and Uncle to Danny Rathbone and wife Lynn, and Joby White and his wife Debora. Newell was a friend to everyone, and anyone who knew him, loved him. He was a wonderful Husband, Father and Grandfather. Newell worked in the shipyard in Newport News then after 6 years came back to work for the Dairymen Association: driving a truck, then went to DayCo where he finished his working career. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he taught the Mens School Class and sang in the choir. Services for Newell Rathbone will be held at 2 p.m. 3, 2014 at Smoky Mountain Cremations and Service Chapel with Rev. Wayne Carson and Rev. Ted Reeves officiating. Burial will follow services at Faith Baptist Church . The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Smoky Mountain Cremations and Service of 3264 Broad Street, Clyde, NC is assisting the family with arrangements. |

Obituary: Clyde, Johnnie Rathbone, age 67, passed away on , 3, 2015 A native of Haywood , he was the son of the late John Henry and Anna Mae Smith Rathbone and was also preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Sharon Lee McDaniel Rathbone, who died in 2007. He retired in 2008 from Colbond with 38 years of service. Johnnie will be remembered for being a devoted husband and was a member of Crabtree Baptist Church.
