Obituary: Mario Rubino, 100, of Chatham, passed away on , 25, 2016. His family will receive friends at the Quinn-Hopping of Livingston, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., on , 2 until 6 PM. The Mass will be offered at St. Patricks Church, 85 Washington Ave., Chatham, on at 10 AM followed by the entombment service at Ocean Memorial Park, Toms River. Mario, who was fondly known as Morris by his friends and family, lived an amazing life. He and his wife Jean, were married for 60 years and raised two sons, Robert and Ronald in Brooklyn. Mario was born, May 2nd, 1915 and grew up in Manhattan, where he enjoyed swimming in the East River and flying kites off the roofs of tenement buildings. As a teenager, during the Depression, he held many jobs from deliveryman, where he used to race milk wagons in the streets of NY after work, to cutting hair as a barber. During WWII, he worked in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. the war, he worked as a bus driver for the New York Transit Authority and upon leaving that job, he worked for Con Edision for 33 years before retiring. retirement, he and Jean moved to Toms River, NJ where they enjoyed participating in many activities. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing pool, throwing darts and he loved to dance. He also loved spending time with his family and took every opportunity to do so. He was a fantastic Grandpa to his 6 grandchildren and a wonderful Gigi to his 9 great grandchildren. Mario is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jean (DiGiovanni) and his parents Carmella and Joseph. Mario is survived by his two loving sons Robert (wife Susan), Ronald (wife Eileen) 6 grandchildren, Robert Jr. (Monica), Todd (Shelley), Jennifer (Mahesh), Jeffrey (Danielle), Zachary, and Madison and 9 great grandchildren, Hailey, Ashley, Rylie, Ava, Sophia, Hudson, Isabella, Julia and Christian. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital |

Obituary: Arline E. Rubino, 83, of Island Heights, NJ, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on 16, 2017. She was born in Lackawanna, PA, and lived in Ocean Gate before moving to Island Heights. Arline worked for Verizon before retiring after 35 years of service. She and her late husband Nick volunteered for many years with The American Cancer Society. Arline loved to cook and entertain her family and friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Arline was predeceased by her husband Nicholas Rubino in 1999. She is survived by her two daughters: RoseMarie Goebel and her husband Kirk, and Renee Agro and her husband James; her grandchildren: Lauren and her husband Justin, Brett, and Nicholas; her great-grandson Mason; and her two nieces: Colleen and Patty. Visitation will be , 19, from 3 to 7PM, at the Anderson & Campbell , 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. The funeral service will be at 10:30AM at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Ocean Memorial Park in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. |
