Obituary: A native of Lumberton, Mississippi she was born 4, 1915 to Dunnan Snow Byrd and Margaret Alice Thomas - Byrd. She was a homemaker and a member of Little Black Creek Baptist Church. Bessie was dedicated to her family, friends, and church. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, Southern Gospel Music, and especially gardening. Survivors include two sons, Reggie Rouse and his wife Mary of Poplarville, MS and Billy Joe Rouse and his wife Rhonda of Fort Worth, TX; one daughter, Beverly Ann Ainsworth and her husband Charles of Kenner, LA; five grandchildren, Michelle Pearson, Bradley Rouse, Laura Freeze, Joy Ross, and Leah Rouse; five great-grandchildren, Noah Pearson, Harper Lee Pearson, Isabella Ross, Georgianna Ross, and Billi Jo Petrucci. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harvey Naison Rouse; three brothers, Julius Dude Byrd, Emmett Byrd, and Ernest Mike Byrd; eight sisters, Irene Hudson, Stella McCann, Clara Daley, Inez Goff, Mildred Miller, Fredna Byrd, Bertice Perreault, and Mitt Byrd; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Pearson. |
