Obituary: Peggy Ann Rogers, 71, died on 2nd at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS Peggy was born in Kosciusko, MS on 12, 1943 to Pauline and Paul Smallwood. She attended Forest High School, Hinds Junior and graduated from Belhaven University with a B.A. in Music. Peggy married Leland Rogers and had three children, Scott, Christopher and Mark. She taught music and directed the choirs at Murrah, Provine and Lanier High Schools. She was a National Class duplicate Bridge player and a Life Master many times over. She was a creative and artistic craft person and exhibited her Christmas ornaments at the Canton Flea Market for a dozen years. Peggy is survived by her husband Lee, her three children, three grandchildren, her sister Cindy Golson, her brother Tom Luby, her mother Pauline Luby and her aunt Grace Graham. services will be held at Parkway ; 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS, at 10AM, , 6th. Visitation will be , 5th, at Parkway, at 5pm to 7pm and at 9am on . Memorial donations may be made in Peggy’s name to Christ United Methodist Church Choir Fund. |

Obituary: Pat left this earth to join her Heavenly Father on , 1, 2010, at the age of 80. We will all grieve her death but rejoice at her going home. Faith and church were an important influence in Pats life. She enjoyed singing church songs and spending time with her family, especially watching over her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving Pat are her daughters Rebecca Lamberson, fiancé Herschel Cunningham, Jeri Leach Mobley and husband Twanye Mobley, Sherry Morton and her husband Ron; son Jay C. Diamond, and step-son Wesley Rogers; grandchildren Courtney Bovey and her husband Mark, Christian Lamberson, Joseph Lamberson, Lance Mobley, Jade Mobley, Hope Sutton, Jessica Mendoza, Jennifer Mendoza, Johnny Mendoza, and Joseph Rogers; great-grandchildren Kiley Sutton, Rain Mendoza, and Sadie Mendoza; five sisters Verda, Larue, Wanda, Zoe, Glenna and brother Leon Fancher, and many nieces and nephews, and a host of beautiful family and friends throughout Texas and Mississippi who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Barton J. Leach and second husband Joe F. Rogers, daughter Judi Bowdle and granddaughter Alicia Bowdle. A visitation will be held at 10:00am-11:00am, , 5, 2010 at Hampton Vaugh in Wichita Falls. Services will follow the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Crestview Memorial Park, Wichita Falls. |

Obituary: Nathaniel (Nat) S. Rogers, age 96, of Madison, Ms. died on 22, 2016. Born in New Albany, Ms., he graduated from Millsaps in 1941 where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order and Omicron Delta Kappa. During World War II he served as a U.S. Navy Lieutenant and was stationed in the Pacific and Asiatic theaters. His ship participated in and came under fire at the Battle for Okinawa. Following the war he attended Harvard Business School, earning his MBA while becoming a George Baker Scholar. He joined Deposit Guaranty Bank in Jackson, Ms. in 1947 and served as its President from 1959 until 1969. He resigned to become President of First City National Bank of Houston, Texas where he served as President or Chairman of the Board until his retirement in 1985. He also served as Chairman of the Board of First City Bancorporation of Texas. Active for many years in banking industry affairs, he served as President of the Mississippi Bankers Association, Director of Reserve City Bankers, member of the Bankers Advisory Committee to the U.S. Treasury, Advisory Council to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, and Director, Houston Branch, of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. In 1969-1970 he served as the President of the American Bankers Association. In civic and community affairs, he served as President of the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, Campaign Chairman of the United Way of Jackson, Ms., President of the Andrew Jackson Council of the Boy Scouts of America, where he received the Silver Beaver Award. In 1955 he was named the outstanding Young Man of the Year in Jackson. Long a Trustee of Millsaps , he served as Chairman of the Board in the mid 1960s and helped guide and support the college in its efforts to racially integrate. He also served as Chairman of the Administrative committee of Galloway Memorial Methodist Church. During his years in Houston, he served as Chairman of the United Way Campaign of Harris and Chairman of the Houston Chamber of Commerce. He served as a director of the United Way of America and served a term as Chairman of the Administrative Board of St. Lukes United Methodist Church. He was a Life Trustee of Methodist Hospital, Houston and a former Chairman of the Board of M.D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute. In Mississippi he served as a Director of Deposit Guaranty Corporation, Mississippi Power and Light , Mississippi Chemical Corp., First Mississippi Corporation, Mississippi Title Insurance , Standard Life Insurance , East Group Properties, and Parkway Corporation. In Texas his directorships included First City, Gulf States Utilities, Lomas and Nettleton , and Sonat Inc. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Helen Ricks Rogers, Madison, daughter Alice Fitzgibbon, Nashville, Tn., Dr. John S. Rogers (Nadine) Knoxville, Tn., and Lewis P. Rogers (Grace) Metairie, La.; eight grandchildren William E Fitzgibbon IV (Victoria), Rebecca Bravender (Christopher), Nathaniel S. Rogers II (Kyla), Alex Rogers, Michael Rogers, Katherine Rogers, Charlotte Rogers and Claire Rogers, and five great grandsons William Fitzgibbon V, Henry Fitzgibbon, Harrison Fitzgibbon, William Bravender, and Mitchell Rogers.. The family would like to thank all of the staff at St. Catherines for their dedication to Mr. Rogers comfort and care over the years. A memorial service will be held at Galloway Methodist Church in Jackson at 11:00AM on , 4th. Visitation at the church will precede the service beginning at 9:00AM.
