Obituary: Katy Rambo, 87, of Russellville, died , 27, 2014, at Saint Marys Regional Medical . She was born 22, 1927, in Checotah, Oklahoma, to Jason Ross and Maggie Wages New. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church for 23 years and always served and loved the Lord. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joel Rado Rambo of 62 years; a brother, William New; and a sister-in-law, Juanita New. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Gwen Rambo of Fort Smith; two daughters, Glenda F. Smarr, widow of Jim Smarr of Russellville, and Deborah R. Rambo of Russellville; two sisters, Gena Johnson of Nampa, Idaho and Enda New; five brothers, Stanley New, Tommy New, Roger New, Leon New and Edward New; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Chris Rambo of Fort Smith, Jon Rambo of Frisco, Texas, Jim and Debbie Smarr of Durrant, Oklahoma, Machele Gonzalvez of Fresno, California, Mike and Terri Smarr of Conway, Derek and Jane Goodman of Russellville, Brandon and Kasie Thomas of Winchester, Virginia, and Katy Danielle and Neill Roshto of Monroe, Louisiana; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on , 1, 2014, at the Shinn Chapel officiated by the Elder Eddie Rogers. Burial will be in Old Baptist in Russellville, by Shinn Service of Russellville. Honorary pallbearers will be the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Senior School Class. The family will receive friends on evening, from 5-6 p.m., at the funeral home. |

Obituary: Miriam Belle Penny Graves Ralston, 94, of El Dorado, AR., passed away , 2, 2014 at Hudson Memorial . Penny was born 20, 1919 in Rutland, Vermont to Morris Julius Graves and Carolyn Elsie Clifford. She was a graduate of the Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a former school superintendent. Penny was the first woman to chair the El Dorado United Way, a former member of the El Dorado Service League and one of the co-organizers of the SAAC Lunch. She was a former board member of Barton Public Library which hired our present librarian Nancy Arn. Before Alzheimers took control of her life, she loved traveling with her husband and spending countless days at their lake house with friends and family. Most of all, she loved her family and was deeply devoted to them all. Penny was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 61 years, Jesse G. Ralston and sisters Elsie Brown and Libby Huebner. She is survived by sons John G. Ralston (Sandy) of El Dorado, Dr. Jim Ralston (Terry) of Hot Springs Village and daughter Jane Bowles (Don) of Dallas, TX. She is also survived by grandchildren: Jennifer Miller (Steve) of El Dorado, Julie Fite (Jody) of El Dorado, Lisa Johnson (Greg) of Dallas, TX, Ryan Bowles (Helen) of Dallas, TX. and Stuart Ralston of Amarillo, TX. Survivors also include (14) great grandchildren: John Michael, Addison and Melanie Miller; Jesse, Jackson and Jace Fite; Zachary, Jacob and Keller Ralston; Xander and Gavin Bowles and Will, Grady and Rebecca Jane Johnson. Pennys brain was donated to Alzheimers research and cremation services were entrusted to Youngs Directors. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm , 3, 2014 at Youngs Directors Chapel with Brother Jack Webb and Rev. Keith Dodson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the John & Jesse Ralston Scholarship, % Union Community Foundation, P. O. Box 148, El Dorado, AR 71730, or First United Methodist Church, 201 S.
