Obituary: DANVERS- Dr. Henry John Ramini 83 of Danvers, beloved husband of Maureen Ellen (Connelly) Ramini, died , 26th, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by his family. Born in Meriden, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Henry John Sr. and Rose (Barbagli) Ramini. He was raised and educated in Meriden and was a graduate of Meriden High School. Henry earned his bachelors degree from Wesleyan University he then continued his education at University of Vermont Medical School earning his Medical Degree. He earned post graduate degrees from New York University and Harvard University in Gynecology and Pathology. Dr. Ramini began a long and illustrious career in Medicine and care management with an internship at Beverly Hospital in 1959 to 1960. He completed his residency at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven, CT from 1960 to 1963. His career spanned over 5 decades and allowed him to care for patients in many capacities all over the east coast. He was appointed visiting Obstetrician-Gynecologist from 1963 to present at Beverly Hospital, he was a member of the research staff at Schering Corporation in Bloomfield New Jersey from 1965 to 1967. While a physician at Beverly Hospital he became founder and Medical Director of North Shore Family Planning Council of Massachusetts. He was appointed Chief of OB/GYN Department at Beverly Hospital in 1974 and held that title until 1987. He delivered over 5,000 babies in his career. A doctor ahead of his time Henry saw the needs of his patients before they did and did his best to be able to care for them in ways not available to them at this time in society. He founded and was the Medical Director of the North Shore Birthing in Beverly, one of the first of its kind in the United States. He held this title from 1980 until 1987. He became president of Associates in OB/GYN, Inc. from 1986 until 1994 at the same time he was appointed Medical Staff Vice President of Beverly Hospital from 1991 until 1993. In 1993 he was appointed president of the Medical Staff at Beverly Hospital and was also the President of Essex OB/GYN, Inc. from 1994 to 1996. With a life time of experience in the medical and healthcare field both in the office interacting with patients and managing other doctors, nurses and staff, Henry was appointed Vice President of Medical Affairs and Medical Director of Northeast Hospital Corporation a title he held from two years (1997-1999). His peers appointed him Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Northeast Systems / Beverly Hospital and all of its affiliates. He held this title from 1999 until 2008 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation from 2008 until 2009. Under his leadership he guided the Hospital through great growth and prosperity. were able to achieve a great expansion and continue to be successful in a turbulent time for the healthcare industry. He was recognized professionally for his leadership ability, his quality of character and care and devotion to his staff. Henry was a member of the Massachusetts Medical Associates, the North Shore Obstetrics Society, the Board of Governors, Salem Country Club (1990-1994), and as a Diplomat of the American of Physician Executives. He was a published author on medical theory and practice in the Clinical Obstetrics-Gynecology, the New England Journal of Medicine, Obstetrics-Gynecology and the American Journal of Obstetrics – Gynecology. He was an avid golfer and devoted member of the Salem Country Club from 1964 until present day. He was a member of the Board of Governors and Membership Chair with two tenures (1987-1989) & (2008-2010). With all of his professional and social accomplishments, Henry always put his family first. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Maureen Ellen (Connelly) Ramini of Danvers, his daughter, Linda J. Morris and her husband Stephen of Boxford, his sons, Michael J. Ramini and his wife Debra of Sanford, Maine, Scott A. Ramini and his wife Arlene of Wells, Maine and Sean H. Ramini of Danvers, his eight grandchildren, Jordana Pickup, Marshall Ramini, Quinn Ramini, Maranda Ramini, Arianna Ramini, Mackenzie Morris, Sophie Ramini and Olivia Ramini, a daughter-in-law, Audrey Hitchcock Ramini of Tiburon, CA. He was the father of the late Craig A. Ramini and grandfather of the late Peyton E. Morris. ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from the Peterson-ODonnell 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, , 31st at 9 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in St. Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield, at 10 A.M.
