Obituary: Ruth Jeanette Rowland (Jean), daughter of the late Lonnie Cheek and Ruth Crouse Cheek, was born on 23, 1932 and departed this life on 29, 2016 making her stay on earth 83 years. She united in marriage to Clarence Edward Rowland on 24, 1949. Unto this union was born three children, Richard S. Rowland of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Robin L. Rowland of St. Petersburg, FL and Regina L. Gibson of Forest Hill, MD. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years and survived by her three children and three grandchildren, Michael J. Tama, Jr. of Bel Air, MD, William B. Gibson III of Delta, PA and Jacob R. Gibson of Forest Hill, MD, along with her son-in-law William Gibson II of Forest Hill, MD; her sisters, Delores Williams of Harrington, DE, Wanda Keith of Independence, VA, Shirlene Moffett of Mountain City, TN and her brother Larry Cheek of Bel Air. MD. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by siblings, Otis Cheek, Edna Stamper, Lucille Hincher and Elva Bachman. Jean was retired from the Dublin Grange Day and founding director. She was a member of the Mountain Union Baptist Association and a member of the Auburn Regular Baptist Church. She was a lifelong resident of Harford . Jean was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear. Obituary: Rev. Clarence E. Rowland, son of the late Roby A. Rowland and Fannie M. Eller, was born on 2, 1929 and departed this life on 13, 2014, making his stay on earth 85 years. He united in marriage to Ruth Jeanette Cheek on 24, 1949. Unto this union was born 3 children, Richard S. Rowland of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Robin L. Rowland of St. Petersburg, FL and Regina L. Gibson of Forest Hill, MD. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, his 3 children and 3 grandchildren, Michael J. Tama Jr. of White Marsh, MD, William B. Gibson III and Jacob R. Gibson of Forest Hill, MD along with his sister Catherine Jones of Jarrettsville, MD, his brother, Dale Rowland of Delta, PA and his son-in-law, William B. Gibson II of Forest Hill, MD. Clarence was retired from the federal government as a chemical specialist at Edgewood Arsenal. He was a lifelong member of the Mountain Union Baptist Association and was ordained as a minister on 12, 1971. Over the years, he served as pastor of Auburn Baptist Church of Landenburg, PA, New Bridge Baptist Church of Rising Sun, MD and Baptist View Church of Forest Hill, MD. He dedicated his life to his belief in God and provided hope to those who sought his counsel. What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear.
