Obituary: .DATELINE: Scarborough Marcia A. Risbara, age 70, of Scarborough, passed away at home on 21, 2014, with her loving family by her side, as a result of ALS. She was born in Bangor the daughter of John and Theodora Cormier Rico where she attended St. Johns School to the 7th grade. She attended St. Dominics School in Portland for her 8th grade and then graduated from Cathedral High School in 1962. Marcia would marry the love of her life Rocco C. Risbara, Jr. on 10, 1962 and they were married for 51 years until the death of Rocco on 15, 2014. She worked for the former New England Telephone for a while, and then helped her husband start R. Risbara Construction Co., Inc., in 1968. built it into the successful business now called Risbara Bros. Construction, Co., Inc. based in Scarborough. In addition, he and Marcia started Risbara Realty which became ERA Agency 1 and was run by her until the agency was sold, ultimately becoming part of the Maine Real Estate Network in the last few years. Together they also started and ran Maine Properties Inc. She and Rocco were founding members of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Scarborough and were instrumental in the planning and building of the church and parish community. Together, they donated the Risbara family chapel at St. Maximilian Kolbe. She was a communicant of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and a member of the Corvettes of Charlotte Club. She and Rocco had 51 wonderful years together and spent many winters in Punta Gorda Florida enjoying the warmth of the sun and their wide circle of friends. Their homes in Scarborough, Eustis, and Florida were always open, and they entertained, and fed, many. She was the perfect partner and compliment to Rocco, and together they worked, with each contributing to their financial, and family success. She enjoyed raising her children and delighted in their success. She enjoyed watching her 13 grandchildren grow and was especially proud, to see her great-grandson, who was recently born. She was an avid reader, and was a razor sharp Scrabble and Words with Friends player. She could frequently be found liking and posting on face book. She enjoyed walking the beach and loved to go barefoot in the sand. She was an inspiration to many in her devotion to her husband and family. She was predeceased by her father John Rico, brother, Jack Rico, her father and mother-in-law, Rocco and Mary Risbara, sister-in-law, Concetta and her husband Joe Pallotta, and brother-in-law, Peter Risbara. Besides her mother, Theodora Rico, she leaves 3 sons; Rocco (Roccy) C., III and his wife Mary Jane Risbara, William (Billy) and his wife Lisa Risbara, Marc and his wife Lisa Risbara, and daughter; Leanne and her husband Dr. Robert Dehler all of Scarborough, 2 sisters; Marilee and her husband James Pandiscio of Scarborough, Rosemary and her husband Billy Hodge of Gibsonton, FL, 13 wonderful grandchildren; Maria, Ashley, Rocco IV, Garrett, John, Micaela, Marco, Marisa, Serina, Maggie, Lydia, Nick and Joseph, and her great-grandson, Crew, her sister-in-laws, Carmel and her husband Lou Croce, Sandra and her husband David St. Clair, and Candy Risbara. Marcia also is survived by many nieces and nephews, and a large contingent of former employees, and friends that weren related but claim family affiliation anyway! Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation on 25, 2014 from 3 to 7PM at Jones, Rich & Hutchins , 199 Woodford St. Prayers will be recited 26, 2014 at 9AM at the funeral home to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the family lot at New Calvary , South Portland. Obituary: Freeport - Nancy A. Ripley, Freeport, ME, passed away Nov. 11, 2013, after a short illness. She was born in Fairfield, ME on 18, 1936 to Elizabeth and Maynard White, having two sisters and three brothers. She graduated from Portland High School, ME in 1953. She was employed at Fox & Ginn, Moving and Storage, So. Portland, ME and Water Treatment, Yarmouth, ME She was the ultimate Red Sox fan and loved collecting Red Sox paraphernalia; she liked to travel, enjoyed family activities, and loved her cat, Zoey, and her dogs, Spike and Macey. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roger, and five children, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service to celebrate her life, will be held on Nov. 16, at 10 a.m. at Pine Grove , Route 88, Falmouth, ME. The Rev. Phillip Shearman will be officiating.
