Obituary: Mary Jane Keller Rye, age 84 of Pioneer, Louisiana, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on , 27, 2017, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on 8, 1932, at home in Galloway, Arkansas, along with a twin brother, to the late George Thomas Keller and Mary Christine Wilson Keller. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved taking care of her grandchildren and being entertained by her great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Pioneer Baptist Church since 1963 when her family moved to Pioneer from Kerr, Arkansas, to farm. And she served in many different capacities through the years. Her only job outside of the home was early in her marriage where she worked as a comptometer operator close to the capitol in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her favorite hobby while rearing her children was to write poetry that she gladly shared with her friends, family and church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Byron Luke Rye, and her oldest son, Bruce Lynn Rye, along with her twin, Marion George (Buddy) Keller, and brother, William Thomas (Billy) Keller. Survivors include her daughter, Paula Rye Gathings, of Monticello, Arkansas; her daughter-in-law, Jeanie Chop Rye, of Oak Grove, Louisiana; her son, Steven Douglas Rye, and wife Cherry, of Oak Grove, Louisiana; her son, Randal Mark Rye, and wife Charlotte, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren and spouses; 6 great grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Ann Lingo, of Oak Grove, Louisiana; Margie Voegele and husband Jake, of Cabot, Arkansas; and Barbara Russell and husband Eddie, of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and a great host of friends and church family. services will be held at 2 PM on , 1, 2017 at Pioneer Baptist Church in Pioneer, Louisiana. Reverend Bill Fowler will officiate. Interment will follow in the New Forest in Forest, Louisiana. Services are under the direction of Cox of Oak Grove. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM on , 28, 2017 at Pioneer Baptist Church in Pioneer, Louisiana. |

Obituary: BYRON LUKE RYE, AGE 88 PIONEER, LA Cox Oak Grove, LA services for Byron Luke Rye, age 88, of Pioneer, LA will be 2:00 PM, , 11, 2016, at the Pioneer Baptist Church in Pioneer, LA with Rev. Bill Fowler and Rev. Pat Lofton officiating. Interment will be in the New Forest . Services are under the direction of Cox . Visitation will be from 5PM - 8PM at the church. He is preceded in death by his son, Bruce Lynn Rye; parents, John Mark Rye and Ora Lee Rye; three brothers, John Gaines Rye, Eugene Harold Rye, and Jerry Marcus Rye. Luke served his country during the Korean War as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U. S. Army Signal Corp from 1951-1955. He began farming with his father and brothers in London, AR and moved his family to Pioneer, LA in 1963, where he continued farming rice and soybeans until retirement. He married Mary Jane Keller Rye on 21, 1953 and they were married for 62 years. He got his pilots license after being discharged from the Army and he also crop dusted and flew leisurely. He was an active member of Pioneer Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and in many other capacities from 1963 until present day. Luke is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Jane Keller Rye of Pioneer, LA; daughter, Paula Rye Gathings of Monticello, AR; son and daughter-in-law Steve and Cherry Rye of Oak Grove, LA; son and daughter-in-law Randy and Charlotte Rye of Bella Vista, AR; daughter-in-law Jeanie Rye of Oak Grove, LA; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brandon Rye, Chad Rye, Matt Rye, Mitchell Gathings, Darby Rye, Patrick Rye, Coy Rye, Steven Williams, Nick Freyaldenhoven, and Kris Cox.
