Obituary: DELCAMBRE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. AJ Romero, the former Gloria Hebert, age 83, at 3:00 pm , 13, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Nathan Comeaux officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake . Visitation will be held from 8:30 am until time of service. A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Romero passed away at 9:10 am on, , 11, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Romero was a wonderful cook and had a great collection of cook books and she loved plants and flowers. She also had a magnificent collection of angels that her children and grandchildren gave to her through the years. She leaves these things and a wonderful legacy for her family to cherish. She is survived by four daughters, Brenda Bourque and husband Russell and Katherine Broussard and husband Robert all of Youngsville; Deborah Nielson of Broussard and Janet Fontenot of Lake Charles; four sons, Richard Romero of Maurice; David Romero and wife Barbara; Michael Romero and Kevin Romero all of Youngsville; one brother, Allen J. Hebert of Houma; one sister, Gail Louviere and husband Gene of New Iberia; twenty two grandchildren; thirty three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, AJ Romero; one daughter, Jackie Ann Romero; parents, Adam and Olive Romero Hebert and four sisters, Beatrice Moreland, Nell Hebert, Bernice Bourque and Pat Johnston. Obituary: Memorial services celebrating the life of Elizabeth Morey Fleury Romero will be held on , 3, 2015, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Morgan City with Holy Eucharist beginning at 1:00 PM, reception to follow at Fleury Hall. Elizabeth passed away peacefully on , 29, 2015, at her residence in Patterson, Louisiana. Elizabeth was born in Patterson on 21, 1926. She graduated as co-valedictorian of Franklin High School before going on to Southwestern Louisiana Institute (UL) in Lafayette, LA where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Business Administration. She worked for Humble Oil & Refinery in New Orleans, later transferring to Exxon Refinery in Baton Rouge. In 1957, she worked for Humble Oil in Los Angeles, CA, where she enjoyed many happy days with her friends and bosses. The true love of Elizabeths life was her Lord and her church in His service at Trinity Episcopal Church where she served as secretary to the rector, choir member and choirmaster for over fifty-two years, acolyte trainer, and president of the Episcopal Church Women. In 2007, Elizabeth was recognized as Honored Woman in the Episcopal Church Women for the Diocese of Louisiana. A special day was set aside to honor Elizabeth at the church on 7, 2007. In 2012, the parish hall was named in her honor – Fleury Hall. Elizabeth delighted in music, especially opera and choral music, drama, grand and light drama, ballet, and cooking from old family recipes. She also took pleasure in gardening, both house plants and outdoor plants. Other enjoyments were traveling and genealogy. She especially relished trips to London, England to visit with her daughter, Ann. Elizabeth served as a leader for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Patterson. One of her objectives as a Girl Scout leader was to expose her girls to different cultures and places of interest outside their home towns. In her twenty years of girl scouting, she planned five out-of-state trips including on to the nations capital and another to the home of the Girl Scout founder in Savannah, Georgia. Four girls were awarded wider opportunity trips to four states. Individual girl scouts, as well as Elizabeth, visited Girl Scout International s in Mexico, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and India. She received an award from the Southeast Louisiana Council in New Orleans in 1978 in appreciation for her interest and support of Girl Scouting. Up to the present time, Elizabeth was an active member of the Patterson Protestant Associations board since its inception in 1967. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lionel J. Fleury and Bessie Morey Fleury; and her dear cousin Emma Lou Lassus Rogers, who was more like a sister than a first cousin. She was also preceded in death by her only other first cousin, Danielle Fleury Cambre. Elizabeth is survived by her son, David Glen Romero and his wife Constance; her daughter, Ann Elizabeth Romero Rajgopaul and her husband Barath; and one granddaughter, Haifleigh Elizabeth Morey Shivers. Elizabeths children extend grateful thanks to Dr. Mistie Charlemagne and staff, Dr. David Patten and staff, and her aids, Susan Bennett, Edna Woods, Sheila Bailey, and Brenda Hilliard. Obituary: NEW IBERIA - Services will be conducted for Mr. Dorres Lucius Romero, age 84, at 2:30 pm , 21, 2015 at Evangeline with Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park . A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline of New Iberia on from 10:30 am until time of services. The Mens Rosary Group will recite the Rosary at 1:00 pm. A native of Abbeville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Romero passed away at 4:18 am on , 19, 2015 at Garden View Assisted Living. Dorres, from the age of 16, has always been a hard worker. He began his working career working for Mr. Harold LaBauve at LaBauve Bicycle Shop. His love of being able to repair things brought him to a long and successful career as the souths first Certified Mercury Master Mechanic, working with Himel Marine. Dorres was not a man of many hobbies, but enjoyed camping. He and his wife were able to visit all of the National Parks in the US as well as in Alaska, but camping in Great Smokys National Park was one of their favorites. Dorres leaves behind many fond memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Annabelle Romero of New Iberia; three children, Sherry Bell and husband Clifford of Hernando Beach, FL; Barry Romero and wife Debra and Lori Guillory and husband Kevin all of New Iberia; seven grandchildren, Beau Romero, Karen Hernandez Maldonado, Merrick Romero, Simone Strong, Taylor Guillory, Karli Guillory and Nicole Bell; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Audrey Cormier and husband Richard of Lafayette and his sister in law, Eunice Romero Pellerin of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson and Aline Viator Romero; one son, Marcus Romero; four siblings, Leroy Romero, Raywood Romero, Earline Van Brocklin and Wilton Romero. Pallbearers will be Beau Romero, Kevin Guillory, Clifford Bell, Merrick Romero, Charlie Strong and Kevin Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Romero and Kerry VanBrocklin. Obituary: COTEAU - A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Dorothy Adams Romero, age 84, at 10:00 am , 27, 2015 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Barry Crochet officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor . Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on with a Rosary at 6:00 pm.
