Obituary: Louise Reiss Rogas Louise Reiss Rogas passed away peacefully at home the evening of 2nd after suffering from a brain hemorrhage this past . She was the wife of Gene Rogas, a wonderful artist and painter who died this past and was step-mother to Genes two sons and their wives, Peter and Leslie Rogas and John and Ruth Rogas of Florida. Louise was the daughter of the late James J. and Alice Peak Reiss, the sister of the late Mary Alice Reiss Jackson and her husband Norcom, the late Catherine Reiss Plauche, and the late Margaret Peak Reiss. She is survived by her brother James J. Reiss, Jr. and sister in law, Priscilla Eaves Reiss. Louise was known as Antla to her many nieces and nephews - James Reiss III and Erica, Lady Reiss Fuller and Chip, Crutcher Reiss, Elizabeth Jackson Tusa and Nick, Peggy Jackson Napier and Don, Buzz Jackson, the late Gordon Jackson and Charlotte, Dr. Reiss Plauche and Gina, Emilie Plauche Flink and Carl, and all of their children to whom she was a surrogate grandmother and also to all of her Van Horn family cousins. Louise was a graduate of the Newcomb Art School at Newcomb and was an accomplished artist in her own right. However, after leaving Newcomb, Louise moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked for the CIA during the 1950s and for awhile during that period was a houseguest of former U.S. Vice President Alben Barkeley and his family. Louise told neither her family nor closest friends what she had done during her time at the CIA except that her desk was next to that of Kermit Roosevelt who had assisted the British in the overthrow of Mohammed Mossadegh and the installation of the Shah as the ruler of Iran in 1953. Upon returning to New Orleans, Louise became the principal buyer for Town and Country, a fashionable ladies dress shop on St. Charles Ave. There, Louise specialized in the design and production of Mardi Gras ball gowns, wedding dresses and custom couture and ultimately moved to New York to be close to markets and to work with the designers Alfred Bosand and Sylvan Fox. Louise once said, I never took a vacation. I absolutely loved that business. But after almost thirty years in the fashion world, Louise and Gene retired to their home in the Garden District where Gene had his studio and where Louise held her salons with friends and neighbors who gathered to discuss books, art, politics, people and to share a good bottle or two of wine and Louises margheritas. She was an art aficionado and voracious reader of non-fiction but especially loved a good spy novel. She had an unquenchable enthusiasm for uncovering new ideas which she shared with others in an effort to foster their interests and dreams. Louise had a wicked sense of humor and a sharp wit and loved a good laugh. We all will miss her terribly. Obituary: Patrick Davis Moody Rogan died at home on 10, 2013. A native and lifelong resident of Louisiana, Patrick was born in New Orleans to Muriel Alma Moody Rogan and Emerson Alfred Rogan on 1, 1941. He graduated from Thibodaux High School in 1959 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Tulane University in 1963.He began his career as a chemical engineer at Chrysler Space Division, where he developed a unique sewage treatment system. He went on to co-found and co-own Southeast Applied Research, where he invented a patented process for industrial laundry wastewater recycling. From 1980 to 1996, Patrick worked as a deepwater systems engineer at Ocean Drilling and Exploration , where he distinguished himself in the field of blowout preventers and controls. Patrick designed a blowout system that is used on offshore drilling rigs throughout the industry. Patrick was a mentor to many of his co-workers, helping them to understand troubleshooting techniques and excel in the subsea engineering field. He continued his innovative work in blowout prevention and related subsea fields at Sonat Offshore, Smedvig America, Transocean Offshore, Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc., and Noble Drilling Services. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ama Ford Darr Norfleet Rogan, and by his second wife, Lydia Elliott Hopkins. He is survived by his children, Ama Ford Darr Rogan, Davis Moody Emerson Rogan, John Michael Sims Rogan, and Alcena Madeline Davis Rogan, as well as by his stepchildren, Jessica Bridget White-Sustaita and Amanda Rachael White. He is also survived by his sister, Alicia Moody Rogan Heard, and by his eight grandchildren: Lucero, Nadin, Rogan, Felix, Ida, Rosalia, Ollie and Magdalena.Patrick¹s funeral service will be held on 17 at 2pm at the Episcopal Chapel of the Holy Spirit at 1100 Broadway St. A reception at the Chapel will follow the service. He was born Harold Willard Rogé, Jr. on , 21, 1948 to Harold and Myrtle Rogé in Natchitoches, LA and entered his heavenly home on , 19, 2016. He was a loving husband of 38 years, and a devoted father, grandfather and uncle. Mr. Rogé worked for the Shreveport Fire department from May 1, 1970 to May 1, 1998 and retired as a Captain. She also leaves behind her brother; Charles Odom and sisters; Mary Beverly, Jean Reagin, Ann Rester, Carolyn Lee & True Chapman. Grandmother of 15 grandchildren; Great-grandmother of 7 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at the Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive; on , 24, 2013 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am.
