Obituary: Ruby Roberts, 84, of Owensboro passed away , 1, 2014, at Owensboro Regional Hospital. She was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Daviess to the late John and Flora Maglinger. Ruby was a member of Owensboro Seventh Day Adventist Church since 1968. She worked as a welder at General Electric for more than 20 years and then at Owensboro-Daviess Hospital for almost 20 years as a nurses assistant, where she retired. ward, she volunteered for six years at her church as the community service director. Ruby loved soap operas, reading, playing cards, gardening and vacationing. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her church and family. Ruby was preceded in death by sisters Nanny Henry, Ester Reneer, Bonnie Anderson, Margaret Holder, Samantha Wright, Temple Hodges and Carolyn Turner; brothers Hewitt Maglinger, Ray Maglinger and John Maglinger; and stepbrother Henry Maglinger. Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Kenneth Roberts; a daughter, Vicki (Larry) Doss; sons Eric Dean (Jonell) Roberts and Bruce Alan Roberts; granddaughters Rana Stiles, Sherrie (Nick) Conkright, Christina Boarman and Erica Roberts; and grandsons Wesley (Courtney) Boarman and Brian (Jessica) Boarman; and eight great-grandkids. Services will be at 2 p.m. at Glenn and Crematory with Pastor Michael Foraker officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

She was born in Daviess , 21, 1919 to the late Rapheal Johnson Jr. and Julia (Wathen) Johnson. She enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, gambling, working puzzles and brightening peoples days with her sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Roberts Jr. in May of 1990, a daughter Judy Catherine Roberts in 1946, a son-in-law Charles Conder in 2007, a great-grandson Alex Conder in of 2005, and sisters, Martine York, Mary Edna Payne, Eunice Corley, Winfred Roby, and brothers Owen Johnson and Vincent Johnson. Surviving are seven daughters, Zula Conder, Martha Hardesty (Frank), Bernice Christian (Don), Irene Nealen (Vincent), Margie Duncan (Rick), Sylvia Kuegel (Bruce), Kathy Shaver (Mike), all of Owensboro. Two sons, Jerry Roberts (Janice) and Stanley Roberts (Barbara), both from Philpot. Obituary: Robert Allen Roberts, 83, of Owensboro, Kentucky died 6, 2015 at his home. He was born on 23, 1931 in Daviess to the late Otto, Sr. and Guyola Knight Roberts. He attended Crosspointe Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the US Navy, serving from 1951-1955 as an Engineman in the Korean War. He was a 32 degree Mason of the Ensor Lodge and a Shriner. He retired from General Electric after 20 years of employment and owned his own lawn care service. Robert enjoyed UK basketball, the Andy Griffith Show, golf, bowling, and Nascar. He is preceded in death by a brother, Otto Roberts, Jr., son in law, Joey House, Sr., and sister, Virginia Roberts. Survivors include a daughter, Roberta Roberts House of Owensboro; a son, David Allen (Ann) Roberts of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Richard (Misty) House, Joey (Misty Wink) House, Jr., Christopher (Debby) House; five great grandchildren, Gwen House, Alexis House, Warren House, Lauren Guinn, Sarah Hamilton; three sisters, Taffy Taylor, Bettie Henderson, Jessie (James H.)
