Obituary: Linda J. Robinson, 65, of Rock Creek Lake, near Kellogg and formerly of Cambridge, died 7, 2014, at Grinnell Regional Medical . No services are planned per her wishes. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Linda J. Robinson Memorial Fund. Linda was born 29, 1949, in Des Moines, the daughter of Kenneth and Lenore Zita Ritter Greenwood. She was raised in Des Moines and was a 1967 graduate of Des Moines East High School. In 1992, she was united in marriage with Lowell Robinson in Davenport. Linda was employed with Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in the claims department for many years. Linda enjoyed her independence and was considered strong-willed. She knew the value of hard work and raising her family was very important to her. She loved traveling, spur of the moment adventures car rides, the outdoors and ATV four-wheeling. She loved her dog, Sugar, too! She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls and other toys. Survivors include two children, Mike Stowe of Kellogg and Michelle Stowe of Cambridge; her father, Kenneth of Des Moines; one brother, Raymond Kenneth Greenwood of Boone; and one sister, Lynn Hood of Newton. She was preceded in death by her mother and her husband. |

Obituary: A service for Karen Ellen Robinson was held 10:00 a.m. , 27, 2014 at Hastings in Jefferson. Visitation was after 1:00 p.m. on with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. at the funeral home. Pastor Bob McKnight of the First Baptist Church in Jefferson provided words of comfort. Honorary casket bearers were: Jimmy Spaulding, Les Johns, Kelly Beamen, Jim Taylor, John Belts, Jeff Stofer and Kent Dzuris. Recorded music selected was: When I Get Where Im Going by Brad Paisley, Get Me A Ride Back by John Mellenkamp and I Hope You Dance by LeAnn Womack. Immediately following the service was a luncheon at the First Baptist Church. Interment will take place at a later date in the Dawson Township in Paton, Iowa. Karen Ellen Robinson, daughter of John Alvin Clingan and Elsie Mae Armstrong Clingan, was born 23, 1936 in Paton, Iowa and died 23, 2014 at her home in Jefferson, Iowa at the age of 78. The day Karen was born there was a terrible snow storm so her mother rode a bobsled to the nearest hospital to give birth. She moved to Jefferson when she was in the sixth grade and lived there from then on. Karen and Carl Robinson were united in marriage on 7, 1954 and the couple was blessed with four children Carla, Blane, John and Greg. Carl left Karen raised her four children all by herself. She worked at Genes Lounge, and then started cleaning houses for numerous people. Karen enjoyed cooking, reading, watching TV, listening to country music, gardening and garage sales for dishes and vacuums. She loved to talk and visit with others; she would call her friends every day. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, sister Juanita Beebe and brother Dale Clingan. Karen is survived by her children: Carla Robinson of Jefferson, IA, Blane Robinson (Teresa Tipton) of Jefferson, IA, John Robinson (Althea) of Jefferson, IA and Greg Robinson (Tammy) of Grimes, IA; three grandchildren: Koller, Kimberly Johns and Todd Robinson; four great-grandchildren: Jaden Koller, Gracie Johns, Eric Johns and Cody Johns; nieces & nephews: Tony Clingan (Paula), Mark Clingan (Kathryn), Evertt Beebe (Bert), Rose McDonald (Richard); other relatives and many friends. |
