Obituary: Twin Lakes - Helenrose Reideler, formerly of Twin Lakes, passed away 5, 2015, at the Eastern Star in Boone, Iowa. Helenrose Nelson was born on 10, 1920, to Elmer and Lillian Nelson in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She moved with her family to Cherokee, Iowa, and graduated from high school there in 1938. Helenrose attended Cornell in Mount Vernon, Iowa. It was there that she met Bob Reideler. graduating from Cornell , Bob and Helenrose were married in Cherokee, Iowa, on 22, 1943. Bobs return from World War II, they made their home in Cherokee and later moved to Rockwell City, Storm Lake and Waterloo because of Bobs work with Iowa Public Service . Bob retired in 1982 and they moved to Twin Lakes, Iowa. In 2007, Bob and Helenrose moved to the Eastern Star in Boone. When Bob passed away in 2010, Helenrose moved back to Twin Lakes until of 2014, when she returned to the Eastern Star in Boone. Helenrose taught English and art classes in George, Lytton and Alta during her career as a teacher. Helenrose enjoyed reading, quilting, playing bridge, collecting paperweights, and spending time with her family at Twin Lakes. Helenrose is survived by three daughters: Beth Reideler of Montrose, CO; Mary (Dave) Gidel of Twin Lakes, IA; and Roberta Reideler of Boone, IA; three grandsons: Jason (Laurie) Wells of Boulder, CO; Michael Gidel of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and Rob (Kristen) Gidel of Urbandale, IA; four great-grandsons: Sawyer Wells, Renan Wells, Owen Gidel and Alex Gidel; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Helenrose was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents Elmer and Lillian (Pratt) Nelson, brother Joe Nelson and sister Mary Nelson Bowman. Helenroses wish was to be cremated, and a Memorial Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. , 22, 2015 at Rosehill , Rockwell City, with Pastor James Hoover Mossman officiating. Memorials may be sent to the Twin Lakes Restoration Association or to a charity that is special to you. |

Obituary: Grace Evelyn (Benson) Reidburn, 91, died 27, 2017, at Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines. services will be 10:00 a.m. at McLarens Chapel in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven . Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Grace was born 14, 1925, in Frankfort, SD to Sherman and Ethel (Hanley) Benson. She attended all 12 years in the Clark school system and graduated from Clark High School in 1943. Upon graduation she worked in Seattle, WA. On 8, 1945, she was united in marriage to Bernard Reidburn and upon his discharge from the U.S. Navy they resided in Clark, SD. In 1952 they moved to Frankfort, SD where they operated the Frankfort Café, and then moved to Des Moines, IA in 1960. Grace worked at McCoys Clothing until 1967. She then worked for Principal Life Insurance , retiring in 1988. In 1988 they moved to Lake Ponderosa in Montezuma, IA and later moved to West Des Moines in 1995. She moved to Illahee Hills in Urbandale in 2016 and made many friends and loved her time there. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Clive, IA. Grace is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Robert) Centner of Fairfield, IA; two sons, Butch (Marsha) of Des Moines, IA and Kerry (Elizabeth) of Norwalk, IA; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and one great-great-granddaughter; and brother-in-law, Dean Dudley. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert and his wife, Mary Ann; sister, Myrtle Heffernan and her husband, John; sister, Mary Dudley; brother-in-law, Harold Reidburn and his wife, Hazel; sister-in-law, Doris Drake and her husband, Marshall; and cousin-in-law, Alvah Macer and his wife, Mildred. We would like to thank the staff at Methodist West and Illahee Hills Senior Living in Urbandale for the great care mom received while there. Memorials may be made to the Unity Lutheran Church in Des Moines, IA. |
