Linda graduated from Boonville High School in 1954. She retired from the Indiana Dept. of Welfare after 40 years and was honored by the Governor for her service. Obituary: Edward L. Eddie Rakestraw, age 81, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away at his residence, on , 29, 2015. He was born on 27, 1934 in Jamestown Township, Steuben , Indiana, to Robert and Ruth (Albright) Rakestraw. He was a 1953 graduate of Fremont High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post # 257. He retired from Simpson Industries (Metaldyne). He enjoyed IU basketball, fishing and gardening. He loved the morning breakfast's with the gang, and especially enjoyed all the family get togethers at the lake. Survivors include his five children, Donna (George) Pinson, Alan Rakestraw, Julie (Rod) Ridenour, Kristina (Dave) Garrison, all of Fremont, Indiana, and Edward L. Rakestraw, Jr., of Ashley, Indiana, seven grandchildren, Leanne (Andy) Lies, Skye Rakestraw, Jordan (Jeffrey) Kaufman, Christopher (Kara) Milholland, Chase Milholland, Alissa Garrison, and Jenna Garrison, three great-grandchildren, Quinn, Lucy, and Ezra, and a great-grandchild on the way, Harper, a sister, Wilma (Robert) Burch of Fremont, Indiana, and two brothers, Donald (Karen) Rakestraw of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Jerry (Verna) Rakestraw of Fremont, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Waunita Foster, and a grandchild, Roxanne Marie. A celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 noon until 4 pm , 5, 2015 at the Fremont American Legion Post # 257, Fremont, Indiana. Military honors will be conducted by members of the post color guard. Memorials are requested to the Fremont American Legion Post # 257. |

Obituary: Pauline Marie "Miss Polly" Rajkovich (nee Zizoff) of Griffith, IN, passed away on 19 2016 at the age of 85 at The William J. Riley Memorial Residence- Hospice in Munster, IN, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Thomas Joseph Rajkovich. Pauline was the daughter of the late Norman and Pauline Zizoff of Hammond, IN. She was also preceded in death by her sister Donnie (Zizoff) Hillenbrand (and husband, George Hillenbrand) and her brother Norman Zizoff, Jr. She is survived by two children: Jill Marie Westerfield (husband, Mark Henry Westerfield) of Munster, IN and Thomas Norman Rajkovich (wife, Susan Barbara Rajkovich) of Winnetka, IL; two grandchildren: Thomas Norman Rajkovich and Amanda Marie Rajkovich, both of Winnetka, IL; a step- grandchild, Alexis Westerfield of Munster, IN and a sister-in-law, Donna Zizoff. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 24 DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Grace Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Edward Moszur celebrating. Friends may visit with the family on 23, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.) at Kuiper , 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland IN. Pauline Rajkovich was a graduate of Ball State University and earned her master's degree in education at Columbia University in New York City. She taught kindergarten for thirty years in the Griffith Public Schools system before retiring and, later, serving as a supervisor for student teachers through Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, IN. She also volunteered at the Hospice of Calumet Resale Shop in Munster, IN. Like her husband, she was a gifted artist, creating jewelry, stained glass and illustrating a children's book. She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Grace Church in Highland, IN.
