Obituary: Jeanne Marie Rouse was a natural leader whose winning presence allowed her to take control of various situations with ease. Equipped with a clear and calculating focus, she possessed a tough-minded, ake charge attitude. She had the ability to make even routine situations seem exciting, and she was at ease with the role of playing problem solver. Jeanne always sought out the scene of where the action was. Sociable, analytical and pleasant, Jeanne was an individual who enjoyed lifes challenges. Jeanne was born on 11, 1929 at Cook Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents were Grace and Edwin Reynolds. Jeanne possessed strong interpersonal skills. She was optimistic in her outlook on life and was able at all times to be open and direct in her communication. Armed with a great wit, Jeanne was raised to be accepting of others and to implement a strong personal work ethic. As a young child, Jeanne showed her creative ability in many ways. She was outgoing and animated. Jeanne enjoyed new activities and pursued a variety of interests. Jeanne lived in a small town and lived somewhat a sheltered life. She did not partake in many school activies, prefering to help out on the family farm. In her spare time she liked read. Jeannes memorable achievements included making scrapbooks of her father and uncle. Known to others as a focused, logical, open-minded and somewhat driven individual, Jeanne was able to utilize these qualities to succeed in high school. Her curious nature was spurred by her ability to maximize her personal learning style through employing a hands-on approach. She was good with facts and had an excellent memory. She graduated from a small class at Gilman High School in 1947. She enjoyed some courses more than others, having favorite classes and teachers. She attended college one year at the University of Illinois. Friends and acquaintances found Jeanne an easy woman to get to know, and those close to her would often praise her open, practical style of communication and relaxed approach to life in general. Jeanne was uncomplicated and straightforward in her relationships, which allowed her to accept people for what they were. She was friendly with everyone. Later in life, she became friends with Violet and Lucille. Jeannes first marriage was to was to Harry Lindquist in 1948. When their daughter was born they were divorced. Jeanne did not remarry until 1978 when she met Jack Rouse. Jeanne charmed Jack and others with her gift for being able to give freely and generously. A good listener with an engaging personality, Jeanne was able to bring pleasure and unexpected humor to the relationship. Very much like a kid herself, Jeanne identified with the inquisitive and creative side of her childrens personalities. She was able to direct her energy and spontaneity towards helping her only child acquire added common sense skills. Jeanne was blessed with one, Sandra Kaye. She has one grandchld, William Charles and two step-grandchildren Tammhy Renae and Woodrow Joseph, Jr. Jeanne was a flexible worker who was able to draw the best from others around her. Following her divorce she found a job and placed her young daughter in nursey school. When Sandra was ready to start high school, Jeanne took a second job to enable her daughter to go to a private girsl high school. A persuasive individual who was quick to make necessary decisions, Jeannes strengths included being able to think on her feet. She could be a leader who sought impact for her decisions. Gifted with an incredible ability to read body language, Jeanne was able to positively manipulate situations and motivate others in order to get a task completed. She was a good negotiator who enjoyed new challenges. Jeanne could multi-task, and she was endowed with entrepreneurial spirit, allowing her to think beyond standard norms when it came to resolving issues in her work environment. Her primary occupation was Pricer for pump parts. Jeanne was the kind of person who could win others over easily. A concrete communicator, she relied on her senses to increase her involvement and awareness of others. She was always able to provide amusing repartee to her friends and acquaintances, offering a seemingly endless supply of quips, anecdotes, jokes and stories. If Jeanne had a theme song written about her, it might well have been Don Worry, Be Happy. Jeanne liked to bowl and was in a league with her company. Jeanne enjoyed many trips with Sandra and later, when her grandson came along, he stayed with her every . Jeanne has a variety of interests among which were bowling, minature golf and ceramics. She was a Cubs fan and a fan of the Bears. Jeanne enjoyed her life and the experience of living it. The true joy of her life was her daughter, Sandra. When Sandra was small they spend their vacation time in the Wisconsin dells and Honey Bear farm. Later they drove to Colorado and Pikes Peak, California, Washington DC and the a bicennteniel trip to Boston and New York and spent the 4th of in Philadelphia. She was so proud of Sandras skill as a dancer, ice skater, horseback rider...but being a stanuch republican was somewhat taken aback when she discovered that Sandra was a democrat. Jeanne also went to San Francisco and Tampa, Florida. Her last trip was to Las Vegas for her 80th birthday. She lived her Christian faith in life, in helping others and being a comfort to them, rather than being a member of organized religion. Jeanne loved animals. Lonesome was the familys first cat, then came Tippy and a second cat, Snoopy. had Duchess, a beautiful German Shepherd, who would play ball for hours. Jeanne also had singing Canaries. One of her favorite dogs, whose name was Shamu, was one-half Shepherd and one-half Wolf. Her last little dog, who Jeanne acquired this continued... |
