Mr. Royston was a truck driver and of the Church of God faith. Mr. Royston was a U.S. Army Sgt. Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era where he received 2 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife, Gail Cromer Royston of Royston, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Leslie Royston of Royston, GA, Nathan and Dawn Royston also of Royston, GA; grandchildren, Niki Royston, Brittany Royston, Nate (Caitlin) Royston, Haylee (Blake) Bennett, Jacob Jordan; great grandchildren, Xavier Robinson and Sawyer Bennett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Lauren Royston of Royston, GA, Roy and Kathy Royston of Canon, GA, and Willie Royston of Toccoa, GA; sister, Rhonda Crowe. Obituary: Mildred Macomson Royston, age 87, of Lavonia, Ga passed away 7, 2015 at the Hart . Born 5, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Rev. S.E. and Marry Ella Atkinson Macomson. She was the wife of the late Sheriff W.C. Cliff Royston. She was the sister of the late S.E. Macomson, Jr., Blanch Adams, Pauline Toney, Ed Macomson, D.W. Macomson, Mattie Cochran, Nazarth Dickerson, Harlie Kelley, Rachel McCall, Robert Macomson, and George Macomson. She had retired from Coats & Clark. the passing of her husband, she became the interim sheriff to fulfill his duties until the end of his elected term. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, a choir member, and a member of the WMU. She is survived by one son, David Royston, Carnesville, Ga; one granddaughter & grandson-in-law, Donna & Brian Segars; and one great-grandson: David Douglas Segars. Services will be held 2pm afternoon, at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Todd West. Burial will follow in the Franklin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends afternoon from 2 until 4pm and evening from 6 until 8pm at the funeral home.
