Obituary: Michael Terry Rape, 76, of Brunswick, GA, passed away , May 12, 2015 at Southeast Georgia System, Brunswick Campus after a full life. Mr. Rape was a lifelong native of Brunswick, GA; born 17, 1938, son of the late Edwin Palmore Rape, and the late Mary Francis Ryals Rape. He graduated from Glynn Academy, and North Georgia receiving his Bachelors Degree in engineering. He was employed by Allied Chemical in Brunswick as a maintenance supervisor for thirty years; and was a school bus driver for Glynn School Transportation for seventeen years until six weeks before he passed. Poppy T, to his grandchildren and friends, supported all their interests and participated in their many activities. He could always be seen at school functions and sporting events. He was an avid fisherman and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He fondly remembered his summers, Thanksgivings, and Christmases as a child on the family farm, working the farmland, swimming in the creek, having watermelon fights, and hunting. He also thoroughly enjoyed each day he spent on the water with his fishing buddies Hal, Van, and Wesley, and later enjoyed taking his grandchildren on fishing adventures in the Coastal Area. Mr. Rape was a member of the Air National Guard, and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Rape was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Kayce Strickland Russell. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lynda H. Rape of Brunswick, GA, his son, Hal Rape (and wife Cassie), his daughter, Joni Crane, his grandson, Wesley Crane, by three granddaughters, Kelly Brown (and husband Aaron), Mary Jane Yarbrough, and Maddie Yarbrough, by five great-grandchildren, Maisie Crane, Kimsie Crane, Hayden Chapman, Caiden Brown, and Makenzie Brown, by niece, Cori Jernigan (and husband John), by his sister, Sandra Rape Strickland (and husband Neil), two uncles, Frank Ryals (and wife Nell), Raymond Ryals, two cousins, Jimmy Ryals, John Ryals (and wife Ann),and their children, Johnny, Jamie and Ashley and many other extended loved ones in Houston , GA. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, , May 14, 2015 at Edo Miller and Sons . services will be held at 11:00 AM, May 15, 2015 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons with Reverend Jim Crandall officiating. Internment will immediately follow the service at Chapel Park . Serving as active pallbearers will be Bobby Rowell, Aaron Brown, Richard Edgy, Van Box, Wesley Crane, Bobby Griffin, and Neil Strickland. Honorary pallbearers will be Glynn school bus drivers, and the employees and former employees of Allied Chemical.
