Obituary: Mr. Earl Rainey, 63, died morning ( 4, 2015) at his residence following an extended illness. He was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL but moved to Waycross in the late 80s. He was a former construction worker and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He also enjoyed serving as a Volunteer Fireman with the Waresboro Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Rainey was a son of the late Seabern Rainey and Lucille Rainey. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Rainey of Waycross; three children, Dennis OBerry (wife Georgette) of Waycross, Mary Turner ( late husband Lamar) of Waycross, and Jessica Baker (husband Stephen) of Ft. Riley, KS; three grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; four sisters, Martha ONeal, Betty Lee (husband Richard), Debbie Highsmith, and Barbara Bennett (husband Tom) all of Jacksonville, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. ( 7, 2015) at the Music Chapel. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen in Jacksonville, FL. The family will be receiving friends evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8 oclock. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.musicfuneralhome.com. |

Obituary: Charlie Rainey, age 79, passed away on , 31, 2016. Mr. Rainey was born on 26, 1936 in Acworth, GA, son of the late Glenn Rainey and Clara Hill Rainey. Mr. Rainey proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant. He served in Vietnam, Okinawa, Japan and the Panama Canal, just to name a few. In his spare time, he loved to piddle around his house and in his yard. His wife, of fifty eight years, Lois Rainey, his children and grandchildren, were his greatest joy. He is preceded in death by his brothers, W.C., Junior and Bobby Joe Rainey; sister, Louise Ingram; grandson, Casey Holbrook. Survivors include his sons, Barry (Veronica) Rainey and Randy (Christy) Rainey; daughter, Brenda Rainey-Day; grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher and Kelly Rainey; Kristy Willis, Craig and Alan Nolan and Charla Barnette; great-grandchildren, Bre Rainey, Alayna Rainey, Briley Willis, Casey Barnette, Katy, William, Daniel, Hailey and Olivia Nolan, Adrianna Rainey. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on , 4, 2016 in the Chapel of Owen with Rev. Jim Parham and Barry Rainey officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are Kelly Rainey, Chris Rainey, Casey Barnette, Ricky Barnette, George Chastain, Tim Kindrick and Roland Watts.
