Obituary: Sofia Rosa, formerly of Bridgeport, CT, 90 years young, left this earthly home to be with our Lord and Savior on 4th, 2014 from Deland, Fl . Born in Vega Alta, PR on 5th 1923 to Ezekiel and Filomena Santana. She was 1 of 5 children and is survived by her brother Domingo. She was married to Segundo Rosa for 58 years before his passing in 2008. She is also survived by 2 of her 3 sons, Antonio and Felipe and predeceased by her son, Elias. Sofia has 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild! She will be remembered for serving The Lord in many ways, some of which are: Visiting the sick, sponsoring her faith based charities, donating her time to anyone in need. She shared her cooking skills with her sons and grandchildren and always made the time to create special memories for each and every grandchild. Words just simply cannot do her justice, she truly was an example of Christ here on earth, and will be missed by all! We will see you in the Sweet By and By! |

At a young age, she married the love of her life Leopoldo Semidey. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great grandmother. A hard worker who enjoyed spending time helping others. Ramona is survived by her 1st Daughter Rosa Esther Goni, Granddaughter, Michelle Goni & husband Leandro Otero, Great-Grandchildren, Joaquin Otero, Sebastian Otero and Gabriel Otero, Granddaughter Jennifer Goni & Husband Charles (Chuck) Russo, her Great-Grandchildren Joseph Russo, Charles S. Her 1st Son Jose Semidey, & Wife Marta Hurtado, Grandson, Jonathan Semidey. 2nd Daughter Granddaughter Maria Ortiz, Grandson Hector Ortiz, Her 3rd Daughter Juanita Semidey, Granddaughter, Liza Davila and her Great-Grandchildren, Alanis Rivera, Sofia Rivera, Lissa M. Sanchez & her husband Milton Burgos and Great-Great Grandchildren, Genesis Hincapie, Gemeli Burgos. Grandson Ernesto Davila & wife Joanna Davila, her Great-Grandchildren Dayralis Davila, Dylan Davila, Erin Ydrogo, Kimberly Boots, Ashley Rogers her husband Oscone Rogers her Great-Great-Grandchildren Izayah Rogers & Zorianah Rogers, Granddaughter Leslie Teresa Vargas and her Great-Grandchildren, Leslie Robles, Alejandro Martinez and Joel Martinez. Her 4th Daughter Ramonita Semidey, Granddaughter, Carmen Correa, Bready Guzman and Grandson Milton Correa, & Ovidio E. Guzman. Her youngest Daughter Ramonita Semidey and her children Carmen Correa, Bready Guzman, Milton Correa and Ovidio E. Guzman lived with her in the final years of her life and they all were her primary caregiver. Ramonita Semidey gave her the kind of care only a loving Daughter can and never complained about having to put her life in second place to provide her care. She was preceded in death by her husband Leopoldo Semidey, her 2nd Daughter Virginia Semidey and 2nd Son Hector Semidey.
