Obituary: Barbara was a gifted and beautiful young woman who was a host and party planner for young children and adults alike. Her costumes and decor were always fresh, beautiful, and one of a kind. Her penchant for perfection was without peer and reflected her personal outlook on life. The joy she provided for others was consistent with the joy of her own life as well. Four and a half years ago Barbara was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She volunteered to undergo experimental treatment and medications that could potentially benefit others who face this life threatening disease. Despite the pain and knowledge that a cure for her was doubtful, she wore a smile until the end, and now rests safely in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. Barbara is survived by her parents, Retired USAF Brigadier General Thomas H. Dinwiddie and Martha Dinwiddie of Sarasota, FL and Springboro, OH. In addition, she leaves her son Zachary Robinson, as well has her oldest son, Erett Hinton, who resides in York, PA, and is the father of her two grandsons, Camron and Brody Hinton. She also leaves her sister, Brenda Gianelli, and brother-in-law, Louis Gianelli of Las Vegas, NV. She is also survived by niece, Megan McDaniel (Jay) of Alexandria, OH, and niece Catherine Roddy of Kettering, OH, by her aunt, Nancy Cooper Wisner and nephew, Thomas Wisner, both of Pittsfield, VT. Her family wishes to acknowledge how deeply grateful they are for Barbara’s dear friend, Paula Halling, who voluntarily prepared many meals for both Barbara and son Zachary during these past several months of Barbara’s declining health. Barbara’s constant companion, and the love of her life, provided constant attention to her throughout these final difficult and painful months. Barbara will always be remembered for her kindness of heart, her beauty, her love for others, and the bright light that encompassed her for all to see over these past fifty-four years. There will be a Memorial Service and Interment in Dayton, Ohio – Date and time to be determined. Donations honoring Barbara can be made to Tidewell Hospice of Sarasota, or any Ovarian Cancer Research of your choice. |
