Obituary: Michael Paul Rising, 58 of Celebration, Florida, died suddenly and peacefully at home on , May 17, 2016. He was born on 12, 1957 in Lockport, New York where he attended DeSalles Catholic and Bryant Stratton Business School. Michael moved to St. Pete, Florida in 1993. He worked for Darden Restaurants from that time until his time of death, with a brief hiatus of employment at Universal Studios. Michael is survived by his partner and husband of 23 years, Jeremy Sherman, his three children, Derek (Christine), Bethany, and Timothy, five grandchildren, his siblings Lynne, David, Clifford, Lisa, and Laurie, and his beloved dog Elliot. He is predeceased by his parents Clifford and Virginia Rising and sister Shari Poole. Michael enjoyed shopping, taking vacations at Sanibel Island, and loved spending time with his grandchildren, who adored him. A visitation will take place on , May 23, 2016 at Woodlawn Memorial Park and , 400 Woodlawn Road, Gotha, Florida 34734 from 1-4 pm, followed immediately by a memorial service and catered reception celebrating Michael's life. Obituary: William Martin Rishoi, 63, of Maitland, passed away on May 13, 2011, from neuroendocrine cancer. He was born in Huron, South Dakota, to Phyllis and Stan Rishoi. Bill moved with his family to Maitland in 1963. He attended Maitland Middle School and Winter Park High School where he formed friendships that would remain with him throughout his life. Bill was a great athlete who played football, basketball, and baseball. graduating from Winter Park High School in 1966, Bill attended Florida State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. Bill had many fond memories of his years in Tallahassee including being a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and playing intramural sports. Bill also attended law school at Florida State University. graduation, he returned to Maitland and practiced law for 28 years with Snyderburn, Rishoi & Swann. He enjoyed fishing, playing tennis, and spending time at the beach with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Pam; his daughter, Kristin; his brothers, Tom and Stan; sisters-in-law, Nellie and Lisa; and nieces, Maria, Andrea and Stacey. Bill felt fortunate to have made many friends throughout his lifetime. We will all miss his one of a kind laugh, his competitive spirit, and his gift for making others feel special. Obituary: WINTER HAVEN - John Freeman Risher, 79, of Winter Haven, passed away on 29, 2015 in Auburndale. He was born to John Welker Risher and Doris McKibben on 29, 1936 in Detroit, MI. John attended Florida State University and was a member of the Varsity Swim Team. John began his telephone career with Stromberg-Carlson in Tampa, FL. Later he joined the engineering department of Peninsular Telephone , which merged with General Telephone of Florida in the late 50s. John retired as a Systems Engineer after 39 years in 1993. John was a member of the F.S.U. Varsity Club and the Seminole Booster Club. He was also a Past Distinguished President of the Winter Haven Kiwanis Club, a Chairman of the District Committee for International Understanding for Kiwanis Club of Florida. John was a Master Mason of 57 years, currently serving as Senior Warden of Winter Haven Masonic Lodge No. 186. He was also a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Tampa. John was currently serving on the Winter Haven Multimodal Transportation Advisory Committee (MTAC). John was a life member of the B.P.O.E. Elks and also an Alumni of Leadership Winter Haven. John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Donaldson Risher, formerly of Tampa, FL, whom he met at F.S.U, his daughter, Lisa Risher Moore, of Tampa, FL, and was blessed with a family of friends who meant so much to him and brought joy to his life. There will be a visitation and time to remember John held on , Dec. 3rd, from 5 to 8 pm at Ott-Laughlin in Winter Haven. A graveside service will be held on , 5th, at 2:30 pm at Myrtle Hill Garden of Memories in Tampa. The family is not requesting flower, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice, or you can just remember John with loving fondness and share your memories of him. |
