Obituary: Gloria Mae Risher was born on 9, 1925 and passed away peacefully on 1, 2014. Her husband, Charles J. Risher Sr., preceded her in death by four years. were married for 67 years. She is survived by sons, Charles, Jr., Gary, Sr. and William Scott Risher; daughter, Deborah R. Simkin; son in law, Ron Simkin; daughters- in-law, Shelly Risher; Chris Solomon, and Judy Pierce, grandchildren, Chuck Risher, Amy McCance, 1st Lieutenant Geoff Simkin, Captain Gary Risher, Jr., Sarah Risher, Jordan, Amelia and Olivia Risher and Brett Risher; great-grandchildren, Haley and Camille McCance. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and came to Destin, Florida with her husband to live with her daughter and son-in-law after Hurricane Katrina. Gloria and C.Js love of the Lions organization in Louisiana was demonstrated by the countless number of volunteer hours spent raising money for such things as the Crippled Childrens summer camps and the Lions Eye Foundation. were both devoted parents and grandparents. Everyone knew Gloria and C.J. because of their generosity and love for life. Her life will be honored on , 6, 2014 at 11:00am in a Mass at Resurrection Church in Miramar Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Lions Eye Foundation. |
