Obituary: John Willard Rhyne, age 88, passed away on 20th, 2017at home in Port Orange, FL (formerly of Clinton, TN) after a long illness. He was born on 15, 1928 in Clinton, TN and was preceded in death by his brother Jack Rhyne, parents Frank and Alice Rhyne and his loving wife of 60 years Jean Cooper Rhyne. Children – G. Rhyne (Trudy), Greg Rhyne (Vickie), Cynthia Rhyne Pike (David) and Susan Rhyne. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. John attended Clinton High School. He joined the U.S. Army in 1946 and served in the military police in the occupation of Japan as part of the 25th Infantry Division. John and Jean were married on 12th, 1949. several jobs in the newspaper printing industry he went to work for Capper Engraving in 1953 and retired from the company as Production Superintendent in 1995. In later years, John & Jean were world travelers, with his favorite country being New Zealand, which they visited three times. In 2002, John participated in a Band of Brothers European Tour and met a group that became lifelong friends. called themselves The Band of Cousins. He enjoyed many years of get togethers, where they told their stories of life experiences. The family will receive friends on 28th at 1 pm at Holley Gamble in Clinton TN. Service will be at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev Richard Nicely officiating. Graveside services will follow at Mount Zion . A memorial service will be held in Port Orange, FL at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make a donation to your local Hospice organization. Obituary: James Haywood Rhymes Sr., 91, of Pensacola FL surrounded by his family, went to be with our Lord Jesus 17, 2016. James was born 31, 1925 in Columbus, GA to Lottie Crouch Rhymes and John Mack Rhymes. He served in World War II, where he spent four years in the Navy as a tail gunner in a TBM Avenger as part of one of the first night fighting squadrons, taking back islands from the Japanese one at a time aboard USS Saratoga. He also observed the raising of the American flag at Iwo Jima. He married the love of his life, Ima Rose Bush 7, 1946. He was dedicated to serving the Lord Jesus through church, family and work, ministering to the community through the Gospel Lighthouse Bible Bookstores for 49 years. His dedication and love for the Lord Jesus was ever present. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Rose Rhymes, children Sharon Rhymes Miller (Forest Grove, OR), Brenda (and Wayne) Rhymes Plotner, James Rhymes Jr. and Janet (and Jack) Rhymes Wilson (Pensacola, FL), many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. For those who knew and loved him, their lives were greatly enriched. The family will receive friends , 20, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM at Eastern Gate Memorial . services will be , 21, 2016 at 12 Noon at First Assembly of God, 4301 Bayou Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32503 with Mr. Rhymes to lie in state from 11 AM until the service hour.
