Obituary: Eva Mae McCorkel Rewis, 67, of Jacksonville Florida went home to be with the Lord on , Sept. 16, 2014 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Eva was born on 29, 1947 in Lulu, Florida, and attended Cornerstone Pentecostal Church. She is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Clyde Rewis; and 4 brothers: William McCorkel, John (Bugg) McCorkel, Freddie McCorkel and Curtis McCorkel. She is survived by her 3 children: Brenda Freeman (Robert), Clyde (Bubba) Rewis (Becky), and Wendy Kimbrell (Johnny); 5 grandchildren: Timmy Freeman (Jennifer), James Kimbrell, Taylor Freeman (Nadia), Kevin Kimbrell (Britny), and Jordan Rewis; 2 sisters: Esther Manning and Aline Jenkins; 3 brothers: Jimmy McCorkel, Wayne McCorkel, and Steve McCorkel (Janet); 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and her beloved dog "Lady-Bug". The family will receive friends at the Hardage Giddens located at 729 South Edgewood Avenue, Jacksonville FL 32205 on , 21, in the afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will also be held at the Hardage Giddens on , 22, at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville FL 32205. Eva will be remembered for her zest for life and love of dancing. Obituary: Kathleen (Kaye) A. Rew of Melbourne FL was called home by our Lord on 11/3/15. Kaye was born in 1928 in Mt. Airy MD., she was the eldest child of the late Oliver & Anna (Leakins) Hoffman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Rew in 1997, who was retired from the Navy. Being a military wife allowed Kaye to travel all over the country with her family. Kaye is also preceded in death by her loving companion, Lloyd Willey, Jr. Kaye was a natural born care giver and volunteer. She made a home and cared for many foster children in MD., devoted many hours at the Frederick Co. Animal Shelter as well as working with the Alzheimers Association in Melbourne. In addition, Kaye was a long standing member of the Moose Lodge and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. Upon moving to Florida in 2002 Kaye became a member of Crossroads Community United Church of Christ where she spent many hours serving God and her community. She is survived by her daughter Marcia Bovio and husband Anthony, of Melbourne FL., her son Mark Rew and wife Barbara of Bowie MD., her granddaughter Anya Van Someren and husband Matthew of Melbourne FL. and their twins, Collin and Brenna, Kaye's great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. In addition Kaye is survived by her three sisters Betty Fleming, Ethel (Ed) Daugherty, Sally Grimes (David) and one brother, Oliver (Jake) Hoffman all from MD., along with numerous nieces and nephews. Kaye was a loyal friend and letter writer and will be greatly missed by everyone, especially dear friends locally and many others that she communicated with on a regular basis. Her death has left those who loved her heart broken, but the imprint she left is strong and abiding. Her spirt lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. Memorial Services will be held at Crossroads Community United Church of Christ at 2436 Croton Road, Melbourne Florida at 12 noon on , 8, 2015. Interment will be held at a later date at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House, 661 Eyster Blvd., Rockledge, FL 32955. |
