Col. Richard Plack, USAF, Ret., of Pensacola Florida passed away on , 18, 2014.
Richard was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to Pensacola as a child. He joined the Air Force after graduating from the University of Florida. On 16, 1953 he married Charlotte Sims of Pensacola and together they had four children. During his 32 years of service in the Air Force he spent 12 months in Vietnam with the 182nd Redhorse squadron (The Dirty Boys), building Phu Cat AFB. His career took him and his family to airbases around the world. He retired to Pensacola in 1980.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte; children, Susan Hayes (Mike), Celia Molina (Mark), Jacob Plack (Melissa), and daughter-in-law Linda Plack; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He enjoyed gourmet cooking and building model trains. He was especially fond of time spent with family. He will be remembered as a loving husband father and grandfather with a big heart. His children will always remember him encouraging and supporting them throughout their lives in all their endeavors. He will be sorely missed by the many that loved him.

Obituary: Lt. Col. Edward T. Graham, USMC, Ret. Slipped the surly bonds of earth on his final flight on Aug. 29, 2015. A native of Montgomery, AL son of the late Lottie (nee Baker) and Judge Edward Graham. He attended Auburn University and enlisted in the Naval Cadet Aviation Program. He won his wings in Pensacola and was commissioned a second Lt. in the USMC. He is a part of USMC Aviation history. He led a flight of A4D Sky Hawks jets across the Pacific Ocean from El Torro, CA to Atsugi, Japan, requiring six aerial refuelings. Ed graduated from the AF Command and Staff , served in the Pentagon, and commanded a squadron of A4 attack air craft in combat over RVN. A modest and humble hero he has been awarded sixteen decorations including the DFC, and the Purple Heart.

He retired to Sarasota with his beloved wife, Debbie (whom he met in RVN while she was an Army Nurse) to pursue his passion for boating. He opened his own business still leaving plenty of time for fishing, boating, and his hobby of wood working in which he was highly skilled. Ed volunteered at the Red Cross, he taught advanced piloting for the USPS. Ed had a droll sense of humor and was he only gut bucket virtuoso east of the Mississippi. His gentleness and goodness will be missed by so many.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary and his much loved other Mom, Florence Benham. He is survived by his heart broken wife, Debbie; his fury companion, Buddy; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and two goddaughters. Full military honors will be held at Sarasota National on Fri. 24, 2016 at 11 am.

Tom graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1942 where he met and married the love of his life, Elma Evans. He served his country for the next 30 years, including WWII in which he flew B-29 bombers over Japan. retirement Tom and Elma settled in San Antonio, Texas where he volunteered for many organizations, including Santa Rosa ChildrenÂs Hospital and Air Force Village. Elma passed away in May, 2000 and Tom relocated to Florida to be near his family. Tom was predeceased by his brother Fr. Dexter L. Obituary: QUINLAN
Lt Col Edward G. Quinlan, USAF, Retired, died on May 18, 2011 at the age of 81 years. Born in Boston, MA, 10 Feb 1930 to Joseph F and Ethel Squires Quinlan, he was reared in Plympton, MA, and graduated from nearby Plymouth High School, Class of 1947. While attending Bridgewater State Teachers the Korean War began and he enlisted in the Air Force. He completed training as an Airplane and Engine Mechanic, and worked on RB-36 Bombers, proudly attaining the rank of Sergeant. In , 1954, he completed the Aviation Cadet Program as a Distinguished Military Graduate, and was awarded aviators wings and a commission as Lieutenant, USAF. In the course of his 23 year military career he accumulated 5, 000 hours flying time, includes 4, 000 hours in helicopters. He advanced from Private First Class Mechanic to Lieutenant Colonel Chief of Maintenance. As one contemporary said, He fixed em and flew em. Service included tours in Korea, where for some time he was the only Air Force pilot authorized to fly into the Demilitarized Zone DMZ at Pan Mun Jom where the Korean North-South border was marked with string down the middle of the green-felt, conference table; in Viet Nam, where he was a Jolly Green helicopter rescue pilot and staff officer; and in Rangoon, Burma, as an advisor to the American Embassy and the Burmese Air Force. It was there he discovered that Kiplings Road to Mandalay was the fast-flowing, muddy, Irriwaddy River. He married Lt. Doris Rita Kliment, an AF Nurse from Binghamton, NY, in 1956. Together they created four children, an AF career, and Quinlans Creative Crafts a craft, trophy, and frame shop and gallery in Del Rio, TX, where they called home after their AF retirement. Both active in the community, he was the first Lay Eucharistic Minister of Sacred Heart Church, which established that program in Del Rio, a Lector for the Mass, and a member of the Parish Council. He reactivated his long-time membership in the Knights of Columbus, joined the Fourth Degree of the Order, and helped establish the local Randy Cote Assembly of which he was the charter Faithful Navigator. Quinlan was involved in the Del Rio community with the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Rotary Club, Crime Stoppers, Bicentennial Committee, Del Rio Centennial, Val Verde Sesquicentennial Committee, Val Verde Historical Commission, and as a member and Chairman of the Border Credit Union, from which position he designed and supervised the building of their Mission style office on Hwy 90. As part of the Action Del Rio Committee, he and Doris originated the Arts and Crafts Fiestaval as part of the Fiesta Amistad celebration. moving to San Antonio, he volunteered for over ten years with the Methodist Hospital Bluebird Auxiliary. He was an active member of the Garden Ridge - Bracken TX Lions Club where he became locally famous for cutting fish and not himself for their annual Fish Fry and Auction. Widowed when Doris succumbed to cancer, Quinlan remarried in 1991 to Marjorie Tuttle Miller of Garden Ridge, TX; their union ended in the new century. He is survived by his children: Kathleen and Kurt Gearhart of Chandler, AZ; Mark and Roseanna Quinlan, of Alexandria, VA.; Maureen Quinlan of Shiloh, IL, and Eileen and Ron Harley of Portland, TX; five grandchildren: Lauren, Kimberly and Michelle Gearhart; Clayton Pfluger; Elizabeth Quinlan and her husband Charles Leasure and his Special Friend, Mary E. Reed of Wareham, MA.
