Obituary: Christopher Roman Rector - father, husband, son, attorney and caretaker of lost and not so lost souls - passed away in Tampa, Florida on 30, 2015. He was 44 years old. By his family and many friends, Roman will be remembered for his generosity, his smarts, his southern charms, his outrageous humor, his powers of persuasion, and above all, for his love of son Aidan. Roman had a lifelong love of the Sunshine State - the beaches, the water, the boats, Busch Gardens, Lake Santa Fe and Gators football. As an adult, Florida was a reminder of many good times, a place to which Roman would return when California had lost its allure. It was in Florida, at Santa Fe Community , that Roman met his future wife, Agatha. Roman soon left Florida to attend Midwestern State University in Texas, where he graduated magna cum laude. earning a Masters degree in Public Administration, Roman headed west to study law at McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. Romans charisma - a paradox of the genteel and the bawdy - attracted a diverse circle of friends, whom he entertained with many stories. As his social life thrived, so did his scholarship. Roman graduated in the top 15 percent of his class and embarked on a career in law. Shortly after completing his studies at McGeorge, Roman co-founded and was managing partner of Attorney Debt Solutions which grew to become one of the largest bankruptcy firms in California. Under his direction, the business prospered and rapidly expanded. Roman, however, lost passion for the work and after a few years, he packed up and headed back to Florida, alone. Thus began an unfinished search. Roman was not one to pass on opportunity, and where opportunity didn exist, hed often create it. Jack Kerouac famously wrote: The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars. This was Roman: Rambunctious, loquacious, luminous, loving, searching; a true original who is dearly missed and very much loved. Roman is survived by wife Agatha and son Aidan; by his mother Linda Dunning and step-father Don Dunning, his father Lee Rector and step-mother Debi Rector; his dear friend Mary Shinners and by his many colleagues and friends. A memorial service will be held for Roman on 14th at 11am at First Unity of St. Petersberg Church. 460 46th Ave North, St. Petersburg, FL 33703. Obituary: Regina Z. Rectanus, 89, of Boca Raton FL died Thurs. Nov. 22, 2012 at Hospice By The Sea, Boca Raton, FL. She was born May 9, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA to William H. and Catherine Henke Ziegenhein. She was married for 59 years to Howard M. Rectanus Jr., who pre-deceased her. She was a resident of Pittsburgh until her move to Ligonier, PA and then to Boca Raton. She was active in her church and community wherever she lived. She was especially fond of her activities with various garden clubs and herb groups. She and her husband belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland and later to St. James Lutheran in Ligonier. In Boca Raton she was active with the Priscilla Circle and was on the weekly prayer team. She is survived by her sister, Ruth C. Boal, three children, Karen A. Rohlfing, Howard A. Rectanus, and Mark W. Rectanus; two grandchildren, Mark D. Rohlfing and Lynne S. Rohlfing; two great grandchildren Thomas M. Rohlfing and Louis M. Rohlfing; two daughters-in-law and a son-in-law, several nieces and nephews and two sister-in-laws, Dorothy Rectanus Weightman and Hazel H. Rectanus. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Mon. Nov. 26th 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Boca Raton. A private interment will be held later at Allegheny Memorial , Allison Park PA. Born in Kissimmee, FL to parents Frank and Sylvia Record, he was an Orlando resident, a graduate of Dr. Phillips High School Class of 2005, and held a degree from UCF’s Class of 2010. Allen was an adventurer, an explorer, a hunter, and a world traveler. He loved motorcycles and cars, and being on the water in a boat or jetski. Allen is preceded in death by his father, Frank Record.
