Obituary: QUEVREAUX, KENNETH EDWARD was born in Webster Groves, Missouri, on 7, 1921, to Edward George and Anna Wagner Quevreaux. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a BA in Business Administration and was captain of the baseball team. He joined the Navy and was stationed in Florida, where he met his wife, Emroy, who was a Navy Nurse. Ken and Emroy were married on 3, 1945, in Florida. The running joke was that Emroy outranked Ken; she was a Lieutenant and he was a Lieutenant JG in the Navy. being discharged, Ken played professional baseball in the Brooklyn Dodgers organization with the Abilene Bluesox. Ken worked in the Ad Valorem Tax Department at Southwestern Bell Telephone . The phone company transferred him from Missouri, to Little Rock, Arkansas, and then to Dallas, Texas, in of 1964. Ken worked for the phone company for more than 44 years and retired in 1991. Ken was president of the Institue of Property Taxation in 1991-1992 and served on the first board of directors for the Texas Association of property Tax Professionals. He also served as chairman of the Appraisal Review Board for the Dallas Central Appraisal District. Ken served on the City Council of Farmers Branch from 1972-1981. Ken was the first chairman of the Farmers Branch Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Rotary Club of Farmers Branch. He also served on various boards and committees for the City. retiring, he volunteered at the North Dallas Shared Ministries food bank. Ken and Emroy were active members of Ridgeview Presbyterian Church and Brookhaven Country Club for 50 years. Ken is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Bill, and daughter, Joanne. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Emroy; son, Jim and Sharon Quevreaux, and daughter, Judy and Pat Foley, and Floyd Coleman. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Prestonwood Rehabilitation in Plano for the care they have provided these past few years. Obituary: Ella Quevillion peacefully passed away on , 8, 2009 at the age of 87. She was born Elia Marie Ramirez on 13, 1922 to Lydia and Turbusio Ramirez. She graduated from Somerset High School and with her family moved to San Antonio where she worked at Kelly Field Air Force Base. While there, she met and later married Robert Frenchie Quevillion. She left the work force to raise her two young daughters and her love for children drew her to re-enter the workforce ~ for several years she worked at Northside ISD. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, her sister Eva Martinez, and brothers Frank and Oscar Ramirez. She is survived by her sister, Emma McLuckie; daughters and son-in-laws: Madelyn and Jack Autry, Robbie and George Jones; grandchildren and spouses: R.J. and Teesha Autry, Scott and Lisa Autry, Chrysalis Autry, and Aidan Jones; great grandchildren: Toryn, Ryken, Noah, and Cody Autry, as well as a large extended family and many lifelong friends. Our family wishes to extend their gratitude and appreciation to her caregiver, Sheri Balzrette, her Earth Angels on the 10th Floor of the Methodist Hospital, and Dr. Robert Goff, who all provided loving care. Obituary: 76 years ago, the good Lord gave the world one of His most precious gifts. On , 13, 2017, He received our sweet Momma, Ofelia Quevedo, back home. She's home now, with her Mom and Dad (our Grandparents) Juventino and Consuello Silva; the oldest of 5 siblings (her Sister and Brother In-Love) our sweet Tia, "Aunt Bea", and Tio, "Uncle Andy"; and second oldest of siblings (her Sister) our beautiful Tia, "Aunt Mary Helen". While we all grieve, ever so deeply, for the years we would have dearly loved to continue to show our Momma exactly how much of a Queen (in our eyes) she deserved to be treated as, we genuinely rejoice in knowing that she is now truly made healthy and whole in Heaven. While her physical body isn here, Momma will always be here with us, continually watching and guiding over all of her kids: Louis and Heather Quevedo; Laura and Eddie Lyons; and Joseph Quevedo, along with numerous Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren. As a single Mother of 3, perseverance, courage, stability, how to push on through while counting our blessings, are just drops in a bucket of the ways Momma walked out her entire 76 years of life. Always, and in all ways. For Momma, life was always too short to stay stuck in anything negative. Always reminding us, even though we lived years in clearly the most extreme dire of situations (financially, emotionally, mentally), that we would all (herself, and the 3 of us) count our blessings, e thankful, and understand that no matter what, "remember, Mija/Mijo, no matter what we're going through right now, there is always someone going through something much worse than us." Momma was sassy, beautiful, and kept us in hysterical laughter with her antics. Even through these last several months of hospitalizations, physical therapies, and having to be moved into a long term care facility, Momma was a hoot and knew she could just get away with it. She adored everyone that crossed her path. Absolutely everyone. Most especially us 3, her Grandkids, Parents, four Sisters, countless Nieces/Nephews. Momma definitely was the one who had a special kind of sweetness about her, while simultaneously being "THE Tia", that all the Nieces and Nephews minded their "P's and Qs around her. When she raised her voice, all of us kids knew she wasn't playing. "Tia Fa" (as the nieces and nephews affectionately called her) was taken very seriously when shed catch you act up.Her legacy, she taught us selfless and unconditional love of Family, and a fighting spirit she instilled in us to overcome adversity and remember our blessings. Obituary: Comfort Harriet Haaland Quesnell passed away on 12, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 98 from large cell endocrine carcinoma of the lung. She was born at the farm home of her parents, Sarah Johanna (Lund) and Elmer O. Haaland on 28, 1914, Clarkfield, Minnesota. She was baptized, confirmed and married in the Norwegian Lutheran Church in Clarkfield. On 23, 1939 she was married to Donald B. Quesnell. moving to San Antonio, Texas in of 1998 she joined Coker United Methodist Church as an associate member, but maintained membership in Clarkfield Lutheran Church. Comfort was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Quesnell; parents, Sarah and Elmer Haaland; three younger siblings, baby brother, Erling Luther, brother, Erling Sanley Haaland and sister, Mavis Sina (Haaland) Kramer; and many aunts and uncles. Comfort is survived by her children, Donald Bruce Quesnell and wife, Gwen, Sharon Lutricia (Quesnell) Saxer and husband, Charles. She was especially proud of her three grandsons, Steven Paul Saxer (Karen), Grant Donald Quesnell (Veronica), and David Andrew Quesnell (Rebecca). Her three great-grandchildren brought special joy to her life, Maarken Alexander Saxer, Taya Nicole Saxer and Abigail Marie Quesnell. She always enjoyed hearing from her nieces and nephews, Earl Haaland, Daniel Haaland, Julie (Haaland) Drummerhausen, Christopher Kramer, Karsten Kramer, Kari (Kramer) Reimers and many great-nieces and nephews.
