Obituary: QUERNEMOEN James Benjamin Quernemoen, age 74, of San Antonio, died , 30, 2010. James graduated with a BS in Political Science from the University of Minnesota. He received his Masters in Special Education from Incarnate Word University. He was employed at CCISD for more than 20 years and he retired as Principle from Mary Grett Special Education School. Obituary: ARLINGTON -- Judy Quereau, 62, passed away at home , Nov. 26, 2010, after a four-year battle with ovarian cancer. Celebration of life and remembrance will be held 5 to 7 p.m. , Dec. 3, at Moore . Memorials: The family requests that memorials be made to any charity that helps children. Judy was a graduate of the TCU Harris of and worked at various Metroplex organizations, including Harris Hospital, Child Study , Kooken Education , Aetna Life Insurance Co. and most recently as a nurse auditor with National care Review. During her career, she especially enjoyed working with children. Judy will be remembered as a shy, quiet and kind person who could appreciate simple pleasures. She loved to laugh and provide great nurturing and support to those close to her. Her best joy in life was simply spending time with her husband of 41 years and two loving daughters. Obituary: Edmund Packard Quereau, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2008, a few days before his 99th birthday. He was born in Bay City, Texas on May 22, 1909 as the third son of five boys to Dr. Edmund Chase and Elizabeth Packard Quereau. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Charles, John, Douglass, and Allen, and his wife, Cecile. Edmund graduated from Main Avenue High School in San Antonio and then The University of Texas at Austin where he completed a Masters degree in French in 1931. He taught French at U.T., Austin for a time and later began Ph.D. studies in French at the University of Chicago. He left his doctoral studies to enter the Army in 1941. He served in the Signal Security Service and then the Office of Strategic Services during the war. In honor of his efforts in support of the resistance fighters in the African-European Theater he was awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French government in 1945. the war, he continued his service to the country in Washington, D.C. and various posts around the world, Tripoli, Algiers, and Saigon, Vietnam, among others, for the next 20 years. He married Cecile Ada de Blonay in of 1952 and after his retirement from the CIA in 1965 they moved to Cannes, France where they lived until her death in 1981. He returned to San Antonio in 1988 and took up residence at the Forum where he made many friends and pursued his love of the piano and classical music. Throughout his life, Edmunds keen intelligence, quiet courage, gentlemanly ways and positive outlook on life made him a delight to be with and he will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him. Edmund leaves behind his sister-in-law, Jean Quereau and her daughter Marie Brunner and family of San Antonio; niece, Elizabeth Nevius and family of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; nephews Quentin Quereau and family of Cleveland, Ohio; Charles Quereau and family of Arlington, Texas; Tobin Quereau and family of Austin, Texas; and Kent Quereau and family, also of Austin, Texas Many thanks to the caregivers from the Senior Bridge Agency and the private caregivers: Maria, Ellie, and Sylvia. |

Obituary: Kathy Bonner Quentan passed away peacefully on 24th, 2017. She was born in Dallas, Texas on 8th, 1955. Her parents were the late Eugene Gilbert Quentan and Carolyn Dorset Quentan. Kathy graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dallas, Texas. She went on to get her college degree from Colorado State University in Boulder, Colorado. She then went on to work as a real estate agent in Dallas, Texas. In her spare time, she was an avid golfer. She was also an excellent backgammon player and traveled around the country playing in tournaments. Although Kathy never married she had many nieces and nephews whom she adored. A one quote from them "Aunt Kathy had a contagious laugh.a gentle souland was generous to all she loved." Aunt Kathy was always the "cool" Aunt. If Mom said no and Dad said no; Aunt Kathy would probably say yes! She would be your partner in crime and have your back if you got caught. She was fiercely loyal and generous. She was always someone you could talk to about anything and she would support you through the good and the bad. One of her very best friends described Kathy as "her soulmate and partner in crime. We've been breaking the rules together since we first ran off to St. Thomas; after college,until the last time I saw her." Kathy is survived by her siblings Jane Quentan Piper, Ann Quentan Tobolka and husband Mike, Martha Quentan Sanderson and husband Webb, Leslie Fields, Michael Fields and wife Carol, and Allyson Fields Hallmark and husband Steve. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces Leigh Ann Gump Willis and husband Cory, Shep Gump and wife Tara, John Gump and wife Erika, Carolyn Gump, John Michael Tobolka, Quentan Tobolka and wife Sophia, Kate Tobolka, Jeff Sanderson, Stephen Sanderson, Cassie Harrell and husband Zach, Chad Hallmark, Matthew Hallmark, and great nieces Emma Gump, Harper Gump, Eve Tobolka, and, great nephew Bowen Tobolka. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Gena Quentan, Lang and Jeffrey Fields, and step-father Joseph Fields. Obituary: Patricia Joan Pollak Quell passed away on 15, 2015 at age 86 at her home in Katy TX. She was born on 1, 1929 in upper Manhattan, New York City to Fred Pollak (deceased in 1945) and Florence Mae Clark Pollak (deceased in 1959). Her only sibling Edmund (Ed) Pollak died in 2014. Pat attended public schools in New York City and studied fashion merchandising. She met Henry (Hank) Quell at age 16, and they were married in 1948. Hank passed away in 2009 after more than 60 years of marriage. Hank's work as an advertising art director led to a relocation to Houston in 1971. In 1986 Pat and Hank moved to Florida, where they spent many happy years until Hank's death. enjoyed traveling to many parts of the United States, as well as Mexico and London. Patricia is survived by her 3 children Stephen Quell (wife Ledie), Susan Bowman (husband Ray), and Fred Quell, as well as 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, most of whom live in the Houston area. She is also survived by 4 nephews and 1 niece in Iowa and Oregon. In addition, she leaves behind her beloved cat "Pearl". Pat worked at several schools in Texas and Florida as a teacher's aide, eventually working with special needs children. She also worked part-time in real estate. She was an avid bridge player and voracious reader. She enjoyed traveling, swimming, and the beach and participated in a "Silver Sneakers" fitness program in her later years. She remained active as long as her health permitted. Always patient and kind, she will leave an empty place in our hearts that will be impossible to replace. We wish to thank her special caregivers - Dorothy Chevis, Gladys Woodson, Margaret King, Carol King, and all the people at Hospice with Grace who cared for her. Special thanks also go out to her wonderful neighbors who expressed so much concern and support. A Celebration of Life will take place on , May 1, 2015 at 11 AM at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive, Houston TX 77079. A reception will follow at the church. |
