Obituary: Waddell Queen 1924 -2016 Belmont - Waddell Hunt Queen, 91, passed away on , 1, 2016 at the Robin Johnson House. He was born in Rutherfordton, NC and was the son of the late Vernon William and Maggie Martin Queen. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Reverend Ellard Queen and Vernon W. Queen, Jr., and sister Francis Edwards Waddell was a veteran of the US Navy. In his earlier years, he worked with his father at the Airport Amusement Park Charlotte. Survivors include his niece Karen Wilson of Mt. Holly; brother, W.T. Queen of Gastonia; sisters, Helen Queen Neagle of Lake Wylie, SC; and Barbara Queen Starnes of Clemmons, NC; and several nieces and nephews Services will be private and at a later date. Obituary: Toney Bonnell Queen, 74, passed away , 29, 2016, in Greensboro. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., , May 6, 2016, at Burke Memorial Park, Morganton, NC. Toney was born 22, 1941, in Cleveland , NC to Bonnell and Texie Queen. He was passionate about mentoring and coaching kids in all sports. He was an everlasting source of strength, courage and friendship for his family. Toney was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Queen was preceded in death by his mother, Texie Queen and his wife, Jo Anne Queen. He is survived by his father, Bonnell Queen; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kelly Queen and their two sons, Michael and Hunter of Apex; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Holly Queen and their son Carter of Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, 840 Neal Street, Greensboro, NC 27403.
