Obituary: Dorothy J. Quinn, 91, of Davenport, a resident of Jersey Ridge Place, passed away peacefully on , 25, 2017. services will be held at noon on , 30, at the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport, with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary , Davenport. The family will greet friends during visitation one hour prior to service time at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association. Online condolences may be expressed by visiting www.rungemortuary.com. Dorothy was born on 25, 1925, in Davenport, to Jacob and Jeanette (Funk) Ovens. She was united in marriage to Harry Quinn on 2, 1970, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on 1, 2009. Although Dorothy worked in the home, she was a world traveler, and loved her day trips. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. In addition, she had a life-long interest in music and a talent for both the piano and organ. She even wrote and copyrighted her own music. She was a past member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Davenport. Those who were fortunate to know her, regarded her as a social butterfly, and admired both her creativity and dedication to her family. Those left to honor Dorothys memory include her daughters, Connie (Robert) Bonne, Davenport, and Lorrie (Tim) Connelly, Minneapolis; son, Donald (Donna) Motz, Perry, IA; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters, Milicent and Evelyn. |

Obituary: Aaron Gray Quinn, age 47, of Albia, passed away May 9, 2016, due to injuries received in a motor vehicle accident. Aaron was born on 3rd, 1968, to Graham and Elizabeth (Blachly) Quinn in Fort Hood, Texas. He graduated from the Albia Community High School with the class of 1987. In 2005 he was united in marriage to Angela LeMasters in East Moline, Illinois. Aaron worked as a cook at Golden Corral in Newton before taking a job as a custodian at the Albia Community High School where he worked for fifteen years. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, woodworking, and cooking. He never knew a stranger and loved to visit with everyone. Aaron is survived by his father, Graham (Kay) Quinn of Green Valley, Arizona; his mother, Elizabeth Harris of Denver, Colorado; a sister, Stephanie (Dan) Waters of West Des Moines and a step sister, Elizabeth (Matt) Celania-Fagen of Parker, Colorado. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:30 a.m., , May 14, 2016, at the Tharp in Albia, with Linda Hoskins officiating, and refreshments and socializing will follow. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Welcome Soldier Memorial. |
